The UFC continued its streak of fight announcements when it revealed that British star Michael Bisping will meet Alan Belcher at UFC 159 in Newark, New Jersey. The bout will serve as the evening’s co-main event. The announcement was first made by Brent Okamoto of ESPN.
Bisping is coming off a disappointing performance against Belfort, where he was finished in the 2nd round with a swift head-kick from the Brazilian. With wins over most formidable middleweights in the division, Bisping will be looking to get back in the title hunt with a win over Alan Belcher.
Belcher also had a disappointing showing in his last UFC outing, losing a unanimous decision to Yushin Okami in a bout that many expected would be his coming-out party in the middleweight division. Now Belcher will get another opportunity against a top competitor and a fighter that he has a particular disdain for as well.
