In anticipation of their premiere event of 2012, and the first card under their new arrangement with Showtime, Strikeforce added a pair of preliminary bouts to the ‘Rockhold vs. Jardine’ roster. Trevor Smith faces Gian Villante in a heavyweight scrap, while Nah-Shon Burrell meets James Terry in a welterweight affair. As part of their contract extension with Showtime, the premium cable network will televise all of Strikeforce’s prelims on Showtime Extreme beginning with this show. The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada will play host. Luke Rockhold will make his first middleweight title defense when he faces Keith Jardine in the night’s featured attraction.
