It was a different time and it was in a different division. 9-0 Dominick Cruz was set to make his WEC debut against their 2-time defending featherweight champion Urijah Faber. It's been highly publicized since this event that Cruz didn't make his way on the event poster - much to his shagrin- which gave him the idea to sign his name over Faber's face on said poster. Once Faber caught wind of this, a rivalry was born.

Now that Faber and Cruz both hold a win a piece over each other it was time for them to settle their score. First the two would coach the first (and last) season of TUF Live then they would settle their differences at UFC 148 in Vegas over the 4th of July weekend. Unfortunately for both fighters Cruz would suffer a torn ACL which would require surgery thus postponing the inevitable. While Cruz watches from the sidelines his nemesis will have quite the task in front of him this weekend in Calgary in the form of Renan Barao.

You can check out the full fight after the break via UFCUrijahFaber after the jump off. Of course you can catch plenty of coverage past, present, and future on Faber's upcoming main event interim-title fight against Renan Barao this coming Saturday at UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao. The winner gets a shot at current Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz once he makes his full recovery should they decide to wait until next year.
