Terry Etim made up for lost time by not wasting any at UFC 138. Etim blew threw Edward Faaloloto in just 17 seconds in the Spike television opener of UFC 138 in Birmingham, England.
The Brit came out on fire and drilled Faaloloto with a stiff jab and two left hooks. The attack continued with a well-placed spinning back kick. Faaloloto had enough and tried to go for a takedown, but he left his head exposed. Etim jumped into a guillotine choke. It hit the floor seconds later and Faaloloto tapped. All that in only 17 seconds.
He earned the Submission of the Night bonus good for $70,000.
"I said I was coming back with a bang and there you go. I really enjoyed that! I've been out for a while so I need to get back and gain some momentum," said Etim.
Etim (15-3, 6-3 UFC) hadn't been in the Octagon since UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi back in Apr. of 2010. He's battled a slew of injuries, most prominently the lingering effects of a broken rib.

It took Etim all of 17 seconds to collect his fourth ‘Submission of the Night’ award when...

UFC 138 was overlooked. Sandwiched between Nick Diaz at UFC 137 and the UFC's first foray into network television, it's no surprise that a tape-delayed card without a title fight would not get the same love as those events, but the fighters still delivered with exciting performances. Here are Cagewriter's Three Stars. Tell us your in the comments or on Facebook.
This Saturday brings us UFC 138 from Birmingham, England. This event has the unfortunate distinction of being sandwiched in-between Penn-Diaz and UFC on FOX: Velasquez-Dos Santos. Compounding the problems with this event is the fact that it will be aired via tape-delay. Further adding to the problems with UFC 138 is the fact that CBS will be airing LSU-Alabama in primetime...
I was very pleasantly surprised by how awesome UFC 138 was- a very exciting card with lots of finishes, like the guillotine above. That being said, I'd like to remind people using my picks for their bets... paypal me some of your winnings, seriously.
Four men took home an extra $70,000 on Saturday night, as Terry Etim, Che Mills, Brad Pickett and Renan Barao were each awarded official bonuses following UFC 138.
