“UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II” took place Saturday inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cain Velasquez promised he would be more aggressive than he was in last November’s encounter with Junior dos Santos, and the former heavyweight champ kept his word in Saturday night’s featured attraction. After getting put to sleep in merely 64 seconds in their initial scrap, Velasquez came storming back to reclaim his crown. Velasquez battered the Brazilian for 25 minutes to solidify his spot as the division’s top dog. Velasquez cruised to a lopsided unanimous decision victory. White was shocked the main event went to the 5thRound. He thought Velasquez could have finished the fight at any point after the 1stRound. Dos Santos was taken directly to the hospital and didn’t attend the presser. White’s open to arranging a rubber match, but noted this scrap was pretty one-sided so dos Santos will likely have to take another fight to get back in the mix. White admitted the Garcia vs. Holloway fight was very difficult to score. Despite four straight losses, Garcia will not be cut. White confirmed if Michael Bisping beats Vitor Belfort, he’ll get next shot at the middleweight title. White admits the co-main and main event saved the lackluster pay-per-view. Of interesting note, Velasquez took off and left his belt on the podium. Hey, champ. Forget something???
