The UFC 156 prelims got under way just after 7 p.m. eastern time. 4 fighters would play to a virtually empty Las Vegas crowd who are likely not in any hurry to make their way to the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The Vegas fans, as always, will file in and start to fill up the seats mid way through the card. Fight City has that internal clock that knows when the big fights begin. Unfortunately for them they would miss a couple of fantastic fights tonight.

Francisco Rivera vs. Edwin Figueroa

This was a stand and banger from the get go. Everyone's favorite referee Kim Winslow took the assignment as both Rivera and "El Feroz" stood and traded heavy leather early and often. Figueroa took the 1st round but appeared to have gassed himself out going for finish blow after finishing blow. Rivera was the fresher fighter as the bout seemed to be headed for a third and final round when he caught Figueroa with a nasty right. Figueroa tried to run away from Rivera but was relentlessly pursued and eventually a la' Njokuani vs. Horodecki minus the head kick.

Final Result:  Francsisco Rivera (9-2) defeats Edwin Figueroa (9-2) via TKO (strikes), Round 2, 4:20

Chico Camus vs. Dustin Kimura

Camus glides around the cage circling Kimura. Catches Kimura early and scores the take down before the first minute expires. Kimura is the busier man from the bottom looking right at home in his guard. Attacking with subs constantly, extremely active controlling the pace from his back and earning a sweep to take the round.Round 2 begins and it's a stalemate for the first few minutes as Camus again is circling the cage. Kimura follows him patiently. Camus eventually gets Kimura against the cage . Some head fighting ensues and eventually they separate. Camus gets the late take down with a minute left in the round and steals it. Kimura works for about a hundred different submissions in 10 seconds. Camus survives with some stellar sub defense. Maybe Camus stole the round there? Very close fight. Huge third round coming up.

Chico goes for another take down and this time Dustin makes him pay for his mistake. It's only a matter of time before Kimura has the back of Camus and sinks in the rear naked choke. From Camus' single to Kimura's mount to back mount in the blink of an eye.  It's tight enough to make Chico tap. "I can't believe you're talking to me now." - Kimura to Rogan in cage to start off the post-fight interview. Rogan tells him to get used to it.

Final Result: Dustin Kimura (9-0) defeats Chico Camus (12-3)
