On Wednesday afternoon, the UFC announced they will be making their return to Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia on May 15th.
The breaking news didn’t stop there, as a middleweight bout between Tom Lawlor (Pictured) and Jason MacDonald was also confirmed for the lineup.
Although a name for the show was not reported, the trusty rumor mill is suggesting it could mark the Octagon’s third event on FX.
Lawlor could possibly be fighting for his UFC life. The likeable middleweight has lost three out of his last four scraps, most recently tapping out to Chris Weidman at UFC 139.
MacDonald is in the midst of his second tenure in the big leagues. After being released in April 2009 following a loss to Nate Quarry, “The Athlete” has returned to post a 1-2 record. He was last seen getting submitted in the 1stRound by Alan Belcher in September.
January of 2010 was the last time Patriot Center hosted an Octagon event.
