Two decorated wrestlers will take center stage on June 22nd in Atlantic City when Michigan State University alumnus Gray "The Bully" Maynard (10-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1) takes on Team Jackson's Clay "The Carpenter" Guida (29-12 MMA, 9-6 UFC).

This Lightweight tilt is set to be the 5 Round Main Event of the evening per the UFC. Maynard finds himself empty handed coming off consecutive high profile title shots against Frankie Edgar during his 2011 campaign. Maynard put the hurt on Edgar in the 1st round of both bouts scoring 10-8 worthy performances that reeked of deja vu. Edgar came back both times, scoring a draw and eventually a KO in the latter of the two events.

With four consecutive victories in the always crowded UFC Lightweight division, Clay Guida was seemingly just one victory away from a title shot. Then Benson Henderson happened. A win over a high profile fighter like Maynard puts Guida right back in the hunt for a rematch with the now current champion in Mr. Henderson. Expect a war when these two top 10 Lightweights collide this summer in New Jersey.
