If you thought you were disappointed to hear a broken left hand had forced Vitor Befort out of his UFC 147 shootout against Wanderlei Silva (Pictured), consider how “The Axe Murderer” felt. Actually, you don’t have to imagine because Silva unleashed a lengthy Twitter tirade expressing his disgust while bashing his injured opponent in the process. “We are professionals. It’s a great irresponsibility not to be careful on training, a great disrespect towards the fans,” Silva posted (translated by Tatame). “I’m really sad. I’m ready to knock you out, you have nowhere to run. This fight is happening. I guess you got scared of me. Nobody trains so hard that breaks his hand. We use the best equipments, gloves, bandages.” Don’t be scared, hombre. “If you were scared, you shouldn’t have accepted it,” Silva added. “If you really got it broken, it’s amateurism and if you didn’t, you’re scared. In both scenarios, it was irresponsible of you towards the fans. “Pardon the word, but I’m pissed with your amateurism. A main event on the biggest event of the world and the guy shows up like that.” It took Belfort all of 44 seconds to put Silva to sleep in his UFC debut many moons ago. Silva has been itching for a shot at redemption ever since the October 1998 knockout loss. He thought he had secured his rematch when the icons were anointed as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil,” with a sequel scheduled after filming wrapped on the reality show. Unfortunately for Silva, Belfort and his broken haymaker were forced to withdraw over the weekend. The UFC is currently scouring its roster for a suitable substitute to stand opposite Silva on June 23rd. UFC 147 takes place inside Mineirinho Arena in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
