The NASCAR season is back upon us and it is time to get you caught up with everything that happened in the offseason. Start ‘N’ Park Blog will be going through their list of drivers running the full schedule in 2013 and telling you what you can expect from those drivers in the new year. Today’s entry is the driver of the #43 Smithfield Ford, Aric Almirola. Driver: Aric Almirola #43 Sponsor(s): Smithfield Make: Ford Team: Richard Petty Motorsports Crew Chief: Todd Parrott 2012 Finish: 20th What’s new for 2013: Almirola returns and has Todd Parrott as his crew chief, the pair started working together in September of last year. Mike’s Rank: 24th Mike’s Take: Almirola defied odds last year and finished 20th in points. He was aided by some bad luck by other drivers that I don’t see happening this year. He definitely deserves to be in the Cup Series, I just don’t know how much more time he has with RPM. Jason’s Rank: 23rd Brandon’s Rank: 19th Brandon’s Take: Aric Almirola had a solid 2012 season in which he led laps and earned a pole for Richard Petty Motorsports.  If they can find speed, they could be a surprise team in 2013. Brittany’s Rank: 24th Brittany’s Take: Reminds me of Amaretto, which makes me think he might be tipsy while out there, watch the water bottles fly from his car.
