JR Motorsports has spent the last couple of months cleaning house at their race shop. They parted ways with competition director Tony “Pops” Eury Sr. back in early September. Just weeks later the race team parted ways with their co-owner and Danica Patrick’s former crew chief – Tony Eury Jr. Now Wednesday the team announced a new driver coming on board for the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series campaign — Regan Smith.
In a press release JR Motorsports announced that Smith will drive their No. 5 Chevrolet Camaros full-time next season, and honestly this is a huge step in the right direction for the organization.
Smith brings something to the table that no driver has had for JR Motorsports since Brad Keselowski left — experience. In addition Smith is extremely good to his equipment. Let’s not forget that Smith started his first 53 Sprint Cup Series races without recording a single DNF. JR M...
