While he shot off like a rocket and led the most laps, the Chevrolets of Kurt Busch and Juan Pablo Montoya had the most power towards the end of the race. However, thanks to a late-race caution and pit strategy, Kevin Harvick, leading only two laps, took home the trophy. With six laps to go, the 11th caution came out when Brian Vickers hit the wall. The leaders came to pit road, leaving Jeff Burton, Jamie McMurray, AJ Allmendinger and Carl Edwards at the head of the pack with the former leaders behind them.
