The driver of the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet is now 58 markers behind teammate and points leader Jimmie Johnson. Kahne’s previous best position with two races remaining was 10th in 2006 and 2009. DEFENDING WINNER: Kahne became the first driver to reach Victory Lane at the reconfigured Phoenix International Raceway in November 2011 after he took the checkered flag in the KOBALT Tools 500. Kahne started 10th and spent most of the race running in the top 10, leading the final 14 laps on his way to his first NASCAR Sprint Cup victory at the one-mile oval. KAHNE AT PHOENIX: In 16 Cup starts at Phoenix, Kahne has one win, two top-five finishes and five top-10s. He has qualified inside the top 10 during the last three races at the one-mile Avondale, Ariz., oval. INTERMEDIATE TRACK STATS: Kahne has collected nine of his 14 career Cup wins and 15 of his 26 pole positions on tracks one-to-two miles in length.  In 16 starts on intermediate tracks in 2012, Kahne has scored an average finish of 10.8 LOOP DATA STATS: In this race one year ago, Kahne ran 32 fastest laps, tying him for second in the event according to NASCAR loop data. Kahne ranked fifth for speed late in a run at 131.590 mph and seventh for his speed under the green flag. CHASSIS CHOICE: For the Nov. 11 race at Phoenix, crew chief Kenny Francis will unload Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 5-744. This is a brand new race car. HENDRICK AT PHOENIX: In 32 races (115 starts) at Phoenix, Hendrick has nine wins, 32 top-five finishes, 57 top-10s and eight pole positions. Johnson leads drivers all-time at Phoenix with four victories as well as 931 laps led. He also is tied for first with 12 top-five results. Jeff Gordon most recently won at the one-mile oval for Hendrick Motorsports in February 2011. KASEY KAHNE, DRIVER, NO. 5 FARMERS INSURANCE CHEVROLET (ON PHOENIX.): “I’m really looking forward to Phoenix. I think the racing will be even better with some more wear on the pavement. We unloaded a really fast car there in March, and our team has been strong on the intermediate tracks all season.”
