Matt Kenseth will be getting a new number for his Roush Fenway Racing Ford Fusion. The Wisconsin native has used the No. 17 since becoming a full-time Sprint Cup driver with RFR in 2000.
The announcement will be made on Monday, May 14 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC.
Kenseth, the 2003 Cup Series champion, is currently second in the standings, seven points behind his teammate Greg Biffle.

The number 17 has been with Matt Kenseth since he became a full time race car driver at the NASCAR Sprint Cup level. In fact it was also the number of his Busch Series ride prior to Jack Roush purchasing the team.
Now there is word that a press conference is coming that may announce a new number and sponsor for Kenseth.
Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Zest Ford Fusion, currently holds down second place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings behind Roush Fenway Racing teammate Greg Biffle. Kenseth, a two-time winner in 2012, held a Q&A session Friday morning at Darlington Raceway with reporters.
