LONG POND, Pa. — Second quickest in the opening practice session of the weekend, Timothy Peters placed one spot better in Friday afternoon’s final practice session in advance of the Pocono Mountains 150.
Recording a speed of 165.975 in his No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota, Peters ran just nine laps in the session, with his fast lap being on is final circuit around the 2.5-mile track.
Sprint Cup Series interloper Kyle Larson, who fastest in the opening practice session on Friday morning, was fast once again. Recording a speed of 165.893, the California native appears to have picked up right where he left off there in June after winning the ARCA Racing Series event on Saturday, and finishing fifth in the Sprint Cup Series race the following day.
Matt Crafton, Ben Kennedy and Justin Lofton in the No. 20 this week for NTS Motorsports rounded out the top-five in the session.
