PLAYERS: Danica Patrick
Danica Patrick's split with her husband looks to be official. The NASCAR Sprint Cup rookie filed for divorce from husband Paul Hospenthal on Jan. 3 in the Superior Court of Maricopa County (Ariz.), according to multiple reports. The reports state that, in the filing, Patrick cited her marriage as "irretrievably broken." The filing also states that the couple has a prenuptial agreement and that neither side will require financial support or alimony. The 30-year-old driver announced in November that she and Hospenthal had decided to divorce. "I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage," Patrick said via her Facebook account. "This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward." The pair married in 2005. Patrick finished 10th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series standings in 2012 and is competing full time in the Sprint Cup ranks this season, running as a rookie for Stewart-Haas Racing.
