Sam Hornish Jr. did not sit behind the wheel of the Shell-Pennzoil Dodge this weekend at Michigan International Speedway until 1:04 p.m. this afternoon. When the command to start engines for today’s Pure Michigan 400 was given at 1:07 p.m., Hornish began one of the most impressive performances of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.
