As the aftermath of the Ray Allen retreat to Miami is now settling in, Celtics’ Nation is now looking toward the future, pursuing their 18th championship banner at TD Garden. A snag appears on the horizon for the C’s, who’s fan base is still stinging from the loss of their hall of fame shooting guard. [...]
BEST OF MAXIM
One offseason shoulder surgery for Celtics guard Avery Bradley appears to not be enough. It's going to take two to get him in shape for next year. Surgery on Bradley's right shoulder, scheduled for Tuesday, may keep him sidelined into the beginning of next season, Celtics director of player personnel Austin Ainge said Sunday, as reported by ESPN. Bradley has already had surgery...
This came out of left field when I was reading Kelly Dwyer's column this morning, which pretty much rips Danny Ainge for spending $36 million on Jeff Green.
And Jeff Green, fully vetted as a wing apparently, will be relied upon due to the potential half-year absence of Avery Bradley, who will be out until midseason while he recovers from significant shoulder woes.
I completely understand why Ray Allen chose to sign with the Miami Heat.
He gets to go to a team that will contend for a championship every year for the rest of his career, his game is made easier for his aging legs as he’ll likely have many more open, spot-up jumpers with the Heat, and not running through multiple screens to get open. He’s going to Miami, where he can play golf...

Of those lamenting Ray Allen leaving Boston for Miami, Celtics coach Doc Rivers will be among the saddest to see the shooting guard go. In the run-up to free agency, Rivers was optimistic that Allen would return but also admitted he wasn't sure what Allen was thinking. When the news finally came that the player Rivers had once said would be "scary" to lose was going...
MIAMI (AP) -- Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis have signed their contracts with the NBA champion Miami Heat, and will be introduced in news conferences later Wednesday.
Allen agreed to join the Heat on Friday. Lewis agreed to terms with Miami on Tuesday. Neither deal could be completed until the NBA's offseason moratorium expired Wednesday.
Allen will make just over 3 million this...
Last week, Careless Whispers was a disaster as That Other Guy’s lack of ability to run a simple switchboard resulted in him hanging up on all the callers. Or did it? Never fear, CLNSRadio listeners, for Matthew Rury is back! Tonight, the guys will be discussing Ray Allen, Dwight Howard, the olympic team, and whether [...]
While Jason Terry will help fill the void left by Ray Allen, the Celtics could still look to add some backcourt depth. O.J. Mayo is one name that's been tossed around throughout the offseason, and the Celtics apparently aren't closing the book on acquiring the free-agent guard. The C's are still interested in acquiring Mayo, according to CSNNE.com, but they may have to...

We have our first “upset” of this year’s Madness. Former Celtic (have to get used to saying that) Ray Allen’s AJ XIII away p.e.’s were crushed by Rondo’s Huaraches. Now obviously I know much of Rondo’s votes may have come after Ray decided to jet for Miami, but the fans have spoken. Rondo’s Nike Huarache bball 2012 received 63% of your votes to move on to the next...
With the recent moves of Steve Nash to the Lakers and Ray Allen to the Heat, it’s abundantly clear that the NBA, despite the salary cap restrictions and measures put in place to end the lockout, is still a league of haves and have-nots. With free agency, the teams in California, New York, and Florida are getting the upper hand with players taking less money to team up with other...
Still no moves from the Pacers in this crazy offseason.Steve Nash makes the Lakers contenders once again in the West. Ray Allen makes the Heat favorites again in the East. Native son Eric Gordon says he wants to go to Phoenix; New Orleans intends to match. Jason Kidd goes to New York, making them potentially dangerous again. Jeremy Lin has signed the Rockets' offer sheet, but...
