@iraheatbeat love Ray on offense but he`s too much of a liability on D, w/ him we will have top 5 O but top 5 worst D.

I saw the above tweet from a Heat fan and I had to chuckle. All the "Yay! We got Ray" chants may eventually dissolve "Oh no, we've got Ray!" Yes, Ray is a great shooter and he's going to hit his share of game winners, but as the Celtics found out, he gives up pretty much as many points as he'll score.
Defense wins Championships and both the Celtics and Heat make defense a priority. It's a dilemma when one of your better offensive guys is so bad on defense that he gives up more than he scores. The Celtics realized that when they replaced Ray in the starting lineup with Avery, who may not have hit as many big threes, but he definitely kept the other team from scoring a whole lot better.
Celtics fans loved Ray but we also know that the Celtics are a better team with Jason Terry, Courtney Lee and Avery Bradley on the court than they were with Ray. They may not hit quite as many 3's as Ray, but they won't give as many up on the defensive end either. Celtics fans are finding out that there is life after Ray and things aren't all that bad. Heat fans are finding out that all that glitters isn't gold.
