Boston Celtics: What I Want The Celtics to Look Like This Year
By Bryan Luis
I have never been a fan of Danny Ainge, but every Celtics fan has to admit that he brought the team out of life support with the trades for Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in 2008. Now fast forward five years to now and you see a team in the pits of mediocrity, but I have a plan my fellow Celtics fans.
Right now their lineup looks like this.
PG Rajon Rondo/Jason Terry
SG Avery Bradley/Courtney Lee
SF Paul Pierce/Jeff Green
PF Jared Sullinger/Brandon Bass
C Kevin Garnett/Chris Wilcox
This team is obviously a playoff team in the Eastern Conference, but no one would view them as a championship contender. They one 1 NBA title in 2008, went to another Finals in 2010 and made the Eastern Conference Finals in 2012. They had an excellent run, but this should be the end for this group.
The rumored trades that were out there, were the KG trade to the Cli

Rajon Rondo's style of play is unique. He is a passer and also, he is a point guard who can rebound the ball. A lot of people say that he needs to develop a jump shot so that he can choose to drive the ball or shoot the ball. In the playoffs, Rondo's game goes to another level and he becomes the best point guard in the league. He does many things that most point guards...
Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo lost his 2012-13 season to a serious knee injury.
He has not let that stop him from staying in the spotlight. Whether it’s at a fashion show or at the Red Bull offices playing a game of Connect Four, Rondo is always into something.
Check out this contest/interview.

These days, it's hard to take what Danny says at face value and run with it. After all, he did assure us that Doc was definitely coming back just a couple of weeks ago and it's been nothing but speculation that he won't ever since. But, this time, I think he has a point. Rajon Rondo is a very smart kid (He does Algebra in his head, after all). And he saw how well the...
Rajon Rondo has played for Doc Rivers for seven years, so the 27-year-old point guard knows his coach fairly well. He also knows when someone’s impression of his coach is spot-on and when it needs work.
Rondo has had a few teammates over the years who do an admirable impression of Rivers, but Rondo thinks Courtney Lee‘s is the best of all the current Celtics. In a wide-ranging...
CSNNE’s Sherrod Blakely is the latest to report on the thoughts in Doc Rivers’ head:
A league source told CSNNE.com on Monday that Rivers’ decision on whether he will return will not be based solely on whether Paul Pierce and/or Kevin Garnett are back in next season. Rivers’ hesitation to verbally commit to next season has more to do with his uncertainty as to what type...
Who knew?! Rajon Rondo is the Bobby Fischer of Connect Four .
In the video above, he plays two games simultaneously and wins them both in under three minutes. While talking trash. And telling the history of his Connect Four talents.
Asked how long he thinks it'll take him to beat both players at the table, Rondo coolly replies, "That depends how long you guys take to play...
Jason Terry‘s scoring average fell to a 13-year low in his first season in Boston, and his playoff production was only slightly better as the Celtics were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Even so, this season was not without its honors for “The Jet.
The Celtics named Terry as their sixth man of the year on Monday, honoring the 35-year-old guard and their second...
More than five weeks after the Celtics were bounced from the playoffs by the New York Knicks, Doc Rivers has yet to say definitively whether he will be back on the bench for the team next season.
While the signs tilt toward him being back, seeing as Rivers has attended pre-draft workouts and discussed next year’s roster with president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, Rivers...
The domino effect is locked-and-loaded for the Boston Celtics.
The first domino to fall could be Doc Rivers. According to Chris Broussard of ESPN, Doc Rivers believes it ‘may be time for a change.’
DEVELOPING: Doc Rivers believes it “may be time for a change” in his status as Celtics coach, source told @chris_broussard.

According to Chris Broussard of ESPN, Doc Rivers hasn’t ruled out returning to Boston next season, but the Celtics coach reportedly thinks that it “may be time for a change.” If the fourteen-year coach were too leave Boston, it is unclear whether he would look to coach another team or return to broadcasting. If he were interested in coaching another team next season, Rivers...
Just for fun, some NBA 2K14 covers that Celtics fans would like to see. Via my pal LoveGarnett:
Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is a Connect Four expert and he proved it by beating basketball writer Brian Kamenetzky and Sal Masekela, the host of the Red Bull Signature Series, Bobby Fisher-style, at the same time.
It has to be the freakishly-long fingers that gives him the edge.
If Boston Celtics PG can’t make a full recovery from his torn ACL injury from last season, he always can turn to playing Connect Four for a living. Rondo showed off his Connect Four talents beating two basketball writers Brian Kamenetzky and Sal Masekela.
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Rivers said he needed to “detox” after the season and apologized for being inaccessible to reporters. But he would not give any indication whether he will be back for a 10th season although president of basketball...
The Celtics have a couple of workouts coming this week according to HoopsHype and Chad Ford. There is a workout scheduled for this week that will include at least 4 players: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jamaal Franklin, Allen Crabbe, and Nick Minnerath.
Pope is a 6'6" shooting guard who is ranked #13 on Chad Ford's Big Board and is projected to be a lottery pick. ...
