With there season heading into a downward spiral the Celtics were able to come together and trounce the Magic, 120-88. With a balanced attack from the starting five and the role players off the bench contributing the C's were able to defensively hold their opponents to 42% shooting while also keeping the rebounding margin close. Both Pierce and Garnett were able to contribute coming off the off day Doc Rivers gave them, they scored 12 and 14 points respectively with Pierce also dishing out 8 assists and Garnett grabbing 9 rebounds. The win clinches the seventh seed and a possible first round series against the Knicks though the Pacers still have a chance to sneak in. KG had a solid outing coming back fromhis off day against the Heat The Celtics were coming off a loss against the Heat while the Magic were trying to win back to back games for the first time since December. Brandon Bass continued his great play and started off the night with a 4-4 first quarter.  He only grabbed 5 rebounds on the night but his defense has been improving drastically and he's more active during games. Courtney Lee was a guy that had some extra pep to his step and was able to come up big and scored a team high 20 points. He helped the C's pile onto their lead and scored 13 points in the 4th quarter. Though his play of late hasn't been encouraging and this was just one game against a team that definitely wont be in the playoffs it's still nice to see him hit some shots. With Lee its seems that whenever he sees a couple of his shots go down he's instantly becomes more aggressive and is assertive in the game. Guys like Lee and Green are going to be big if this team is going to have success in the playoffs. Bradley is a given to bring lockdown defense to a majority of guards in the league and though Terry has struggled mightily he seems to have the trust of Doc for his reputation as a deadly scorer in the postseason. Aggressive play out of Lee was exactly what the team neededto get out of this losing streak. If the guys can continue to play like they've shown in flashes then the team as a whole is more dangerous and likely to go farther in the playoffs. Even Crawford, the enigma himself, was able to put together an efficient effort by scoring 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting. He's someone that could win the Celtics a playoff game alone ala Nate Robinson in 2010. His fatal flaw is also his strongest weapon and that's his confidence. There isn't a shot that Crawford doesn't think he can make and on some nights thats enough to get you a win. If the Celtics do play the Knicks then they on paper matchup pretty well and have a shot to pull the upset. New York might be hot but they're three point dependency and lack of height, look at the Celtic fan judging, could be their downfall. The C's have the confidence to play in MSG and a lot of these guys actually thrive there, looking at you Captain. The Pacers are a defensive juggernaut and I'd rather avoid a team that plays with a dominate frontline and great team defense. [Discuss on CG Forums!]
