The Celtics bounced back after a heartbreaking one point loss in OT in Philly last night to dominate this game from start to finish. The Sixers never led in this game and the Celtics led by as many as 21 points. The Sixers made a run in the third quarter to cut the 20 point half time lead to 8, but the Celtics responded and went on a 7-0 run of their own to hold the Sixers off and rebuild the lead. The final score was 92-79.  Philadelphia 76ers' Thaddeus Young (21) and Boston Celtics' Kevin Garnett (5) vie for a rebound in the first quarter of an NBA basketball game in Boston, Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012. (AP Photo/Michael Dwyer) Kevin Garnett led all scorers with 19 points on 9-11 shooting but for just the 4th time in his career he didn't grab a single rebound. The last time that happened was in 1997.  He seems to have found a fountain of youth as he has been playing like he is rejuvenated lately.   In my preview I noted that if Pierce's shot wasn't falling because of fatigue since he played over 40 minutes last night, that he should find open teammates. Well, he did just that, dishing out 9 assists in the game to go with 13 points and 3 rebounds. Rondo flirted with a triple double once again with 7 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. He came up limping in the first half and had the trainers work on his balky ankle a bit before returning to the game and playing almost 36 minutes. Jason Terry bounced back from his 1-12 shooting night last night to score 9 points in this game on 3-9 shooting. Brandon Bass played with a lot of energy in this game, having played the fewest minutes of any starters last night, he was fresher and it showed. He finished with 10 points and 4 rebounds. Jeff Green once again had a good game on the offensive end finishing with 16 points on an assortment of dunks, jumpers, and 3 pointers. He failed to grab a rebound in the game however but for his offensive contributions, he won the Tommy Award. . Sully though was a beast on the boards. He finished with 7 points and 9 rebounds. The kid is just good. Chris Wilcox played with a lot of energy also and finished with 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Courtney Lee scored 3 points on 1-3 shooting. It seems as though he is hesitant to shoot and needs to regain his confidence in his shot. He also had 2 rebounds and 2 assists. 2012-12-08 Boston Celtics' Paul Pierce (34), Brandon Bass, second from left, and Kevin Garnett (5) help teammate Rajon Rondo off the floor in the second quarter of an NBA basketball game against the Philadelphia 76ers in Boston, Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012. (AP Photo/Michael Dwyer) The Celtics shot 53% from the field in this game. The story of the game was their defense, however. They held the Sixers to 39% shooting for the game and they only scored 28points in the first half. The Celtics grabbed 32 rebounds to 35 for the Sixers, which was pretty good considering that Green and KG had no rebounds. The Celtics were able to cut their turnovers to 11, and that was a good thing considering the Sixers got 21 points off of their 18 turnovers last night. Hopefully the Celtics can build on this win. They have 3 days off before facing the Dallas Mavericks, who are still without Dirk Nowitski, in the Garden on Wednesday. The C's will then head out on the road to face the Rockets, Spurs and Bulls. This would be a good time for them to put it together and start playing well and put together a nice winning streak. Box Score [Discuss on CG Forums!]
