image from:espn.go.com Many people believe that this upcoming 2014 NBA draft is one of the strongest drafts in recent memory due to the number of players who can turn a franchise around. However, Celtics GM Danny Ainge doesn’t believe that such a player exists in this upcoming draft. Via Ian Thomson of Sports Illustrated: “If Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was out there to change your franchise forever, or Tim Duncan was going to change your franchise for 15 years? That might be a different story,” said Ainge. “I don’t see that player out there.” While perhaps hall of famers like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Tim Duncan aren’t in this upcoming draft, I’m pretty sure that Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker are really talented young players that have the potential to be that good. Ainge’s remarks seem to be made with the purpose of reiterating that the Celtics aren’t tanking, and by saying these kinds of words, Ainge hopes to dispel all rumors and speculation of tanking. In other words, I doubt he’s being totally honest and candid with his comments here. —Ben Parker: follow me on twitter @nba_lord The post Celtics GM Danny Ainge Doesn’t See A Franchise Changing Player In The 2014 NBA Draft appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.
