PLAYERS: Kevin Garnett
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
8 a.m. ET: The Celtics will play a great game on Wednesday, as will their opponent, the Mavericks. Or maybe only one team will play well. Or maybe neither. Nobody can really tell anymore with these two teams. The Celtics and the Mavericks each made some interesting moves during the offseason. While the Celtics went all-out with depth to put them in position to contend for the next two to three years, the Mavericks stocked up on aging veterans on short-term contracts to free them up for a roster purge at any time. So far, the results for both teams has been mixed. Boston (11-9) comes into the game having alternated three wins with three losses over their last six games. Dallas (11-10) has won three straight as one of the streakiest clubs in the NBA. Together on the same court, there is no telling what the expect on Wednesday. Join us for updates and analysis from the TD Garden during the game, which tips off at 8 p.m. ET.

Could Kevin Love be Kevin Garnett's replacement in 3 years?

Kevin Love is unhappy in Minnesota. While it would not be shocking news to hear that a player isn't happy with a small franchise that hasn't been successful for a very long time, Love's problem with the Wolves is not a typical case of superstaritis where the player practically runs the team and still creates problems. Shockingly, it's the opposite. Love's talent...

Kevin Garnett Shows Off the Navy and Silver Anta KG3

Kevin Garnett took to his Weibo account (Chinese Twitter) to show off the latest colorway of the Anta KG3. In my opinion this is the best colorway to be released. What are your thought on the Navy/Silver KG3.

Rondo and Garnett on pace to start in the All-Star game

The first All-Star ballot results are in and the Celtics look to be well represented following the recent revisions to the ballot. After the Roy Hibbert debacle last year the ballot was changed to two backcourt and three frontcourt positions, doing away with the Center designation entirely. Following the top two vote-getters in the Eastern Conference, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony...

Kevin Garnett Calls “Bullsh*t!” – VIDEO

Enemy Chatter: KG came in and… bang, bang, bang

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Philadelphia. “Kevin Garnett was spectacular, he was great,” Collins said after his team fell to 11-9 on the season. “Our guys fought. We cut it to eight and Garnett came in and bang, bang, bang, he sort of put it out of reach. I guarantee...

Celtics Locker Room Report: All About That Trapping Defense

The Celtics took 2OT to beat the Mavs 117-115 last night, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t like what they saw on the defensive end. Coach Doc Rivers, for one, was very pleased with the way the Celtics guarded the Mavs’ leading scorer, O.J. Mayo. Former defensive player of the year Kevin Garnett had a [...]

Christmas at the Garden

[caption id="attachment_2269" align="alignleft" width="300"] Kevin Garnett likes playing Santa. Who on earth knew? But Ray Allen won't a gift, which could make him feel a bit blue. (http://www.celticslife.com)[/caption] 'Twas Christmas at the Garden, and there was plenty of mirth. But someone was missing: Jesus Shuttlesworth. While the Celtics...

OJ Mayo was willing to play for the Celtics

Celtics fans got a good look last night at O.J. Mayo’s talents (24 points, 10-19 FG, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and 9 TOs). That box score is something that we could have seen in a Celtics jersey. It’s no secret that Mayo’s name has been linked to the Celtics over the past couple of seasons, mostly in trade talks and failed deals. This past April, Celtics analyst...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Mavs

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:      Defense:      Overall: He played 52 minutes, which is a LOT.  The 16 points and 15 assists is awesome.  The jumpers that he was nailing were spectacular.  Defensively, he tailed off towards the end of the game.  But then he turned...

All Star Voting First Returns Are In

The first returns are in for the All Star voting and the Celtics are well represented.  LeBron is the leading vote getter for the East as might be expected, with Carmelo Anthony not far behind.  Kevin Garnett is in 3rd among front court players and would start if the voting stays in this order.   In the backcourt, Rondo is second to Dwyane Wade and would also start if the voting...

O.J. Mayo: ‘Would’ve been an honor to play’ for C's

Last season a trade that would have brought O.J. Mayo to Boston for Judas Shuttlesworth was basically squashed because Mayo claimed that he “doesn’t care about Boston’s banners.” After last night’s double overtime loss Mayo backpedaled faster than Rondo getting back on D, claiming that the accusation wasn’t true and he had no say in the matter due to lack of veto power...

Your Morning Dump..Where the C’s are tightening up on the defensive end

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Boston Herald.com: “Celtics Tighten Up on Defensive End”  During the five games since that infamous Nov. 28 night, when coach Doc Rivers branded his players a bunch of softies, the Celtics have allowed an...
