The Boston Celtics may have lost one of their most important pieces this offseason when Ray Allen opted to sign with the Miami Heat but the team did retain a key component with the re-signing of Jeff Green. The Celtics made the announcement this week by extending him for four years at $36 million. The Celtics first acquired Green from the Oklahoma City Thunder in return for Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson back in the 2010-11, and Green had a tough time fitting in. He averaged around 15 points per game and six rebounds in his career in Oklahoma City but those numbers dipped in Boston to 9.8 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game. Last season, Green missed every game as a heart ailment forced him to the sidelines. He has publicly said that he feels much better than he ever felt before and after the Celtics worked him out, they deemed him to be good to go.
