An expected, but classy gesture. Win this one for Boston.
Celtics president Rich Gotham said they're working on commemorative patches. Would wear them Wednesday & in playoffs.

I expect all of the Boston teams to give gutsy, emotional performances when the playoffs kick off. And for this kind of tragedy to happen to a city that is so connected and in love with it's sports teams, expect those home crowds to be loud.
We're in for one hell of a ride.
BEST OF MAXIM
If it's worth anything: Kevin Garnett is standing as still as a statue in the middle of the practice floor, staring up at the banners.

Before we get to the upcoming playoff series with the Knicks, let’s address the roster situation for the final two regular season games – Tuesday vs Indiana and Wednesday at Toronto. According to ESPN Boston’s Chris Forsberg:
* PIERCE (ILLNESS) SITS OUT: Celtics captain Paul Pierce is battling a stomach bug and was told to stay home from practice on Monday. He’s still expected...
With the playoffs quickly approaching and the Celtics seeding set in stone, there really is no reason to play their key guys other than get a rhythm going heading into the playoffs. That especially goes for the veterans.
The 35-year old Jason Terry for one missed the last game against Orlando. Apparently he could miss more than that with some "bothersome" legs.
In light of the tragedy that occurred at the Boston Marathon today, the game scheduled to take place tomorrow night in Boston between the Celtics and Pacers has been cancelled.

9:18: At the half, the Raptors lead the Celtics, 59-49. They don't need to win this game, so I'm not upset about this deficit. But it'd still be better if they were ahead. Bradley and Pierce both have 11. Crawford has 7.
In a press release tonight, the Celtics announced that the NBA has canceled Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers:Out of respect to all those who have been impacted by the tragic events today in Boston, including members of the extended Celtics family, the Boston Celtics and the NBA have decided to cancel the game scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, between the Boston Celtics...

We are about 48 hours past one of the worst events to happen in our lifetime in the city of Boston. There are still many in shock from what happened, whether it is the disbelief that we were caught so off-guard, or unfortunately having a loved one who was involved in the attacks. The entire state feels as if it has a blanket of disbelief and sorrow hanging over its head.
The Toronto Raptors hosted the Boston Celtics Wednesday night in what would be their final game of the season. It was the Celtics’ first game since the Boston Marathon tragedy that took place Monday, so in a classy move, the Raptors organization set up a touching series of events to pay tribute to all that were affected by the horrific bombings. First, both teams met at center...
Sheed's bald spot is one of life's great mysteries
If you forgot about Rasheed Wallace, I wouldn't blame you.
There's the fact that he retired following Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals, and didn't play basketball for 28 months.
There's also the fact that a stress fracture in his foot seemed destined to end his return bid for the Knicks, appearing to end...
Boston is a city almost without borders. People within 50 miles of the concrete monster we know as city hall can stake a rightful claim to being from Boston or “the Boston area.” And people from all over the world who root for our teams can feel a very special connection to the city.
Yet Boston is very small when compared to some of the other major cities in the world. New...
This was destined to feel a little strange. The Celtics took the court for the first time since the Boston Marathon bombings not at TD Garden, but in Toronto, closing out the regular season with their 81st game in a matchup that meant nothing, against an opponent already greedily counting its draft lottery ping-pong balls.
Somehow, though, it felt even stranger than anticipated....
One of my favorite Celtics/Knicks moments with a little re-written history
