The Boston Celtics came back from 27 points Thursday night to beat the Orlando Magic 91-83. This is the third straight win for the Celtics without Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo. This is also the second straight win against Orlando, as the Celts opened up a can of whoop-ass on Monday when they beat the Magic 87-56. The Celtics started off the week at Washington to face the lowly Wizards. They ended up winning this game by six but lost Ray Allen in the process. Allen sprained his ankle and sat out Monday and Thursday's games against Orlando. On Monday the Celtics took on the Magic, who have one of the best records in the East. They started Avery Bradley and Sasha Pavlovic and still won by 31. The C's played great defense on Dwight Howard and closed out on the shooters. It also helped that Orlando couldn't hit water if they fell off a boat. The big thing that I took out of this game was the play of point guard Avery Bradley. He's had a tough start to the...

Report: Ray Allen's Wife Gives Birth to Boy, Wystan Ryan Allen

While Ray Allen's team was battling for a comeback win in Orlando, The Allen family was in a battle of its own. Early Thursday night, Shannon Allen gave birth to their fourth son, Wystan Ryan Allen, according to The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn. It is unknown whether Allen will be ready to go Friday night when the Celtics face off against the Indiana Pacers. Indiana is coming...
TOUGH ROAD

Rondo could miss most of February

The Celtics have played extremely well as of late, but you have to wonder if the streak will continue if Rajon Rondo misses significant time while recovering from a wrist injury.

Ray Allen will NOT play tonight

Twitter / @scott_souza: Ray Allen says he wanted t ... via kwout Despite earlier reports that Ray was in... he's actually going to sit this one out. Still no news on Rondo... but it's not looking good.

What the Celtics comeback win over Orlando really means

The Boston Celtics looked like a team that should have been playing in an over-40 YMCA league instead of the NBA for the first half of last night's game against Orlando. Without Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Jermaine O'Neal and losing Keyon Dooling again in the second quarter, the Celtics were proving all of their national critics right by looking older than dirt, moving slower...

Ray Allen to play, Jermaine to sit

Jermaine O'Neal has a bruised knee cap. He'll have an exam tonight, but no need for an MRI. He hopes to play Sunday.

Celtics Live Blog: Ray Allen Stays Home While C's Travel to Orlando for Matchup With Magic

8:30 a.m.: Missing five players due to injuries didn't hurt the Celtics on Monday, when they trounced the Magic by 31 points on the TD Garden parquet. Playing the third game of a four-game, five-night stretch, the Magic might be expected to be a little sluggish. Then again, Dwight Howard and company will probably have extra motivation due to Monday's embarrassing display...

Boston Celtics Paul Pierce Has Made Rajon Rondo Expendable?

The Boston Celtics were 4-8 and struggling. The offense was lost most of the time as the Celtics failed to have any rhythm. The troubling part is the team failed to crack 80 points in a vast majority of the games after some wretched starts that saw the team fail to score even 40 points at the half. The offense looked like they were going to take another hit as star point guard Rajon...

A breath of fresh air

With injured starters Ray Allen (ankle), Rajon Rondo (wrist) and Jermaine O’Neal (knee) in street clothes for the start of last night’s game against the Indiana Pacers, it was imperative for the reserves on the Celtics bench to help fill the void. Led by Chris Wilcox’s 14 points and 6 rebounds, both season highs, the Celtics got a huge lift from their bench in last...

Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo won't play tonight; Pietrus returns to lineup

No Rajon Rondo means that Avery Bradley should get the start at point guard again tonight. Jameer Nelson is probably crying in his living room as we speak. Bradley better keep his head on a swivel for a rock solid screen from Dwight Howard if he decides to do the personal full-court press again.

The Celtics should Break up the Big 3 in Full

Right now the Boston Celtics sit at 8-9. That record as of now is good for second place in a ridiculously weak division led by the Philadelphia 76ers who have feasted on a weak schedule and have been thoroughly crushed by contenders. The Boston Celtics currently sit at 7th in the East and will still likely make the playoffs. The Big 3 experiment in Boston was a fun experiment –...

The Orlando Magic Let The Monsters Live

So about a week ago, I had real hope that time had finally ran out on my least favorite basketball team on the planet, your Boston Celtics. They had just lost to the Suns at home, losing Rajon Rondo to injury in the process. They were 5-9, losers of 6 of their last 7, and even their five wins were weak, seeing how they had only beaten terrible teams (Detroit, Washington, New Jersey...

Who’s Better: Kyle Lowry Or Rajon Rondo?

Just as we wrote in the Dwight Howard versus Andrew Bynum debate, normally you’d scoff at this comparison. But with the way this season is shaping out – there are definitely going to be a few highly-popular players who lose out on All-Star spots to lesser-known studs – Kyle Lowry and Rajon Rondo is a [...]
