Those who look at Luol Deng’s stats, will not see an All Star, but those who watch the Chicago Bulls regularly see why he is a two time All Star and one of the best players in the NBA. He only averages 16.7 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and is only shooting 42% on the season, but his value is so much more than those stats. He does everything for the Chicago Bulls.
He is the Chicago Bulls’ team captain, their best perimeter defender and top scorer. He is in fact, one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA and leads the NBA in minutes, playing over 39 per game, which is simply ridiculous. All game long he defends the best player and along with the inconsistent Carlos Boozer, is expected to carry the Bulls on offense without Derrick Rose. He does everything for his team and for his coach and his value is impossible to 100% know.
