Found March 08, 2013 on Celtics Life:
Earlier this week, Jessica Camerato of CSNNE had an awesome piece on Chris Wilcox recovery from last season's heart surgery. In the piece, Wilcox spoke about his March, 2012 surgery, and how he was literally racing against the clock to complete his rehab schedule in time for NBA camp. The Celtics back-up big man pushed himself so hard at point, that he ended up back in the hospital. From Camerato's article (link). "It's crazy because I had surgery the end of March, almost like the first of April," he said. "When I got out of the hospital it was April 3 or something like that. April, May, June, July, I had to start back working out four months after my surgery when I wasn't supposed to do anything until probably like six months. So I'm back working out running and I'm not even supposed to." He continued, "[The doctors didn't really know what I was doing], but I had to do what I had to do to get back on the court. Nobody knew. Th...

Why Jeff Green has been inefficient in the post (and how to fix it)

Has Boston been using Jeff Green correctly in the post? One of the most encouraging developments we’ve seen as Boston continues to reel off impressive victories against playoff teams has been the offensive progression of Jeff Green. The Celtics have clearly told Green to look for his own shot as often as possible, and he has obliged, scoring 1.14 points per possession in spot-up...

Celtics new defense: 'Manwich' zone

The Boston Celtics four-game winning streak could be attributed to their "manwich" zone, which they used in Wednesday night's come-from-behind victory over the Indiana Pacers. The Boston Celtics shutout the Pacers in the final 4 minutes and 36 seconds of the game.  The Pacers missed seven shots and turned the ball over three times in their fina

This is not the first time Reebok has made an airplane inspired shoe for the Jet. While in Dallas, Reebok made a custom Jet inspired pair of the ZigSlash. No word if this special pair of the Sublite Pro Rise will hit retailers...

Opposing Guards Have Asked Celtics Avery Bradley To Ease Up On Defense

Boston Celtics second year guard Avery Bradley is an absolute beast on defense and drives opposing guards crazy when they play against him. Bradley took a scorching Stephen Curry and hounded him into a miserable 6-22 shooting performance, right after Curry lit up the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden for 54 points. Bradley only has one goal when he takes the basketball court...

5 Things Celtics must do to win - Hawks 3/8

After their thrilling win over the Pacers, the Celtics will head home for a meeting with the Hawks. The Hawks currently sit a game ahead of Boston for the six seed in the east, so this one will be very important. Recently, the C's have looked unbeatable at home, and I kinda expect that to continue. The only reason why I won't guarantee a win is because you can't. Last...

Your Morning Dump… Where Jason Terry was like glue

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. On Friday, Korver finished with 3 points on 1-for-5 shooting in 38 minutes as he was blanketed by the energetic Terry. “Listen, Jason had 19 points, but I thought the thing he did better than anything was he...

Doc Rivers Believes Jordan Crawford, Terrence Williams, Other Newcomers Need to Start Learning ‘Celtics Way’

WALTHAM, Mass. — As the unofficial second half of the season heats up, the Celtics have dispensed with any talk of how they will proceed after losing Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger and former member Leandro Barbosa to season-ending injuries. Subsequently, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge decided against subtracting major players and instead made more modest...

Scout: Rondo is the Celtics leading a-hole

ESPN’s Marc Stein spoke with some NBA scouts about the upcoming playoffs. Here’s what one Eastern Conference scout had to say about the Celtics chances: I’ll buy your [contention] that they’re playing happier without him, but when it comes down to the big games, you need a couple a-holes. And Rondo is the leading a-hole Boston has. He affects the game like nobody else. ...

Green’s Game Winner Completes A Miracolous Comeback By The Celtics

Paul Pierce Huddle-Bombs Sixers

This is one of the greatest huddle-bombs you’re going to see. Pierce didn’t even try to sneak in…. he just walks right up,  past Spencer Hawes, who looks directly at him, and drapes his arm around two Sixers to listen in on the last few seconds. Yep so much for a team of fierce competitors

The Real Reason The Celtics Seem Better Without Rondo

Photo: ESPN   A.B. Everywhere you look some idiot somewhere is talking about how the Celtics might be better without Rondo. They will site things like, “The Celtics are 15-7 this season without Rondo, and 12-4 since he went down”. They might even look at the statistics of the team and individual players while he’s been out. The problem with these numbers is they do not take...
