This is good news as Wilcox’s back looked to be a lingering problem, the fact that he is game-ready after one practice is a testament to his offseason work ethic and eagerness to get back on the court.  His addition to the front court rotation could be huge, as he gives the Celtics more size down low which seems to be their biggest weakness.  Wilcox will join the other bigs fighting for minutes and continuing to bolster one of the leagues deepest benches. The length and abilities of this bench should be one of the Celtics biggest strengths as some of the aging bodies hope to be fresh come playoff time and Wilcox could be an important cog in the Celtic’s second unit.  KG will end up thanking the likes of Wilcox, Sullinger, Bass, Green, and Milicic if he can stay active and spry for the entire season.I can’t help but think the Celtics second best player at every position could beat the Bobcats.  Terry, Barbosa, Green, Sullinger, Wilcox vs. Ramon Sessions, Ben Gordon, Kidd-Gilchrist, Bismack Biyombo, and Brandon Haywood?  It would be close– but I think I’m taking the Celtics (yes, I know the second unit could look different and will be fluid throughout the season, but just go with it for arguments sake).  A meaningless hypothetical unless the Celtics have the playoff secured and they play the Bobcats late in the season, and even then it’s still meaningless.  Thank goodness the season is starting soon.
