From the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn in his "Sunday Basketball Notes" column:
"Also on the market is former Celtic Chris Wilcox, who said he would like to return to Boston, but that’s highly unlikely with the new regime. Wilcox said that recovering from aorta surgery affected him last season and he promised to be in better shape this season."
The Celtics already have the full 15 players on the roster, are roughly $13 million over the salary cap, and are currently hovering just above the luxury tax threshold as well. Not to mention there's a surplus at the PF/C position, seven able bodies by my count. Unless some other things happen first, there's no room for the C's to add Wilcox.
Part of me would love to see the former Maryland Terrapin back in green though. When healthy there were brief moments over the past two seasons when Wilcox appeared to be the most efficient offensive center on the roster. He was the only big man who seemed well ...
