BOSTON -- The Celtics were extremely formidable at the TD
Garden last season, when they won 24 of their 33 home games and enjoyed a
bittersweet send-off from their fans toward the end of Game 6 of the Eastern
Conference finals.
The Bucks did not much care about Boston's home record from
last season, though, and Celtics coach Doc Rivers recognized that. Shortly
before his team took the court for their home opener on Friday, Rivers said
that a new season wipes away any advantage the Celtics seemingly enjoyed a year
ago.
"I always tell our guys, why do you want home court if
you don't have a home-court advantage?" Rivers said. "So you should
establish it. I think we've done that over the years here. This is not a place
people want to come in to play, but I think each year you have to re-establish
it. I don't think you get a bye from last year. You've got to keep doing
it."
Success in the home opener does not necess...

Yeah, cause Dwyane Wade has never done a punk move in his life.
Seriously, I'm sick of Wade already. I never hated him before the Heat got LeBron and Bosh but since then...

A look back on Kevin Garnett metaphors
Last night after the loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Kevin Garnett gave a speech to his teammates that involved a "pack of hyenas" metaphor. Strange to say the least. But this isn't the first time Kevin has said some very strange metaphors. Lets look back on some of his best.
1.) The Green Squirrel
"We had four assists at halftime, that’s not us. That’s like...

Danny Ainge hints that Jeff Green does not match up well with Miami Heat, and he might be right
Note: This post is not meant to scream, JEFF GREEN’S GOING TO SCORE NO MORE THAN THREE POINTS EVERY TIME HE PLAYS THE MIAMI HEAT!!” or “THE CELTICS ARE SCREWED BECAUSE THEY’RE TOO MUCH LIKE THE MIAMI HEAT!!” It’s simply to advance the conversation about how the Celtics’ on-court relationship with their biggest Eastern Conference rival has evolved. I fear I sound more...
Enemy Chatter: Boston isn’t the easiest place to play
We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Milwaukee.
They will face a Celtics team already smarting from an opening-night road loss to Miami and former teammate Ray Allen on Tuesday.
“I think every first game everybody gets a little nervous,” Jennings said. “Especially for...
Swagger - The Good Old Days
All this talk about Dwyane Wade whining about Rondo's hard foul had me thinking about how basketball used to be played. You know by now that I read a lot of books on Celtics history. I love reading the story about how the Celtics didn't back down from anyone. Those Celtics teams in the old days had some swagger. I know that part of that swagger came from winning, but...
Boston Celtics Weekly Recap – November 4th
Once again, we recap the best and worst of the Celtics Opening
Week. So far the Celtics are 1-2 to start the season, having lost both the road

Bucks Spoil Home Opener 99-88
On Friday night the Celtics opened up their 2012-2013 season at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. Coming off a loss to the Miami Heat the Celtics looked to crack down on the defensive end and continue to execute on offense. Unfortunately neither of these things happened for the Celtics as they lost to the Bucks 99-88.
The Celtics struggled from the start looking sloppy on offense...
Celtics Live Blog: Kevin Garnett, C's Aim to Get Back to Winning Ways in Washington
8 a.m. ET: Whoever it was that showed up Friday at the TD Garden wearing the home uniforms, that team did not resemble the squad that the real Celtics insist they can be.
They are what their record says they are, however, and entering Saturday's game in the nation's capital, the Celtics were 0-2. In front of them was an underwhelming Wizards team dealing with injuries to...

Who's the Punk??
Dwyane Wade called Rajon Rondo's hard foul in the opener a "punk play" and said that only knowing his children were watching kept him from retaliating. Today after practice, Rondo talked a little about the foul although he wouldn't say too much, asking the reporters if they were trying to get him a fine. But he did say at the end of the interview,
"I mean...
Bucks Lead the Celtics 46-30 at the Half Behind Jennings’ 15 Points
The Celtics trail the Bucks 46-3 at the half as Brandon Jennings leads the way with 15 points and four assists. Playing small ball and the pick-n-roll in today's NBA
There is one thing we do know is that the NBA is a copycat league. When the Boston Celtics revived the 'Big Three' theory, Pat Riley decided that he wanted his own with a slight twist. As a result he got the 'super-brats' together in South Beach and won the 2011-12 NBA title. This year, for some reason, the NBA is not only obsessed with small-ball but the pick-n-roll...
