PLAYERS: Doc Rivers
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
From the Globe's Baxter Holmes twitter account. On whether they'll sign Terrence Williams to another 10-day deal, Doc Rivers says, "I think so." — Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) February 28, 2013 This shouldn't come to a huge surprise to anyone, considering Williams has played fairly decently in limited minutes, and his 10-day contract expires tomorrow, but it's good to hear it from Doc. Despite receiving a DNP-CD against Utah on Monday, Williams showed fantastic court vision and the ability to lead the team in transition during both the Lakers and Suns games. As someone who loved T-Will's game at Louisville, I hope that he gets a chance to stick around a little longer. Very few players his size (6'6") see plays develop before they happen, and those who do are not available at this time of year. In the 3 games Williams has appeared in he has averaged 4.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2 assists in just under 15 minutes per game. Another reason...

Your Morning Dump…where Wyc would retire Garnett’s number

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump  “These are guys that I can’t imagine giving those numbers out to anybody else,” Grousbeck said on WEEI. Grousbeck called Pierce the “linchpin” of the Celtics’ success during his tenure, which predates...

Start Jeff Green Please

Choose me to start. Start my boy Jeff Green, come'on Boston Celtics. I been hard on the guy all season long, but now, I jumped onto his bandwagon (if he has one). Nothing against Double B, I like him but I think it is time for a change, and the change is to start Jeff Green at the 4. I know we have been playing better have late, but I think one reason why is because we have...

Celtics Owner Wyc Grousbeck Discusses Pierce, Garnett’s Legacy In Interview On WEEI

Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck joined Mut and Merloni on WEEI 93.7 FM for an hour long interview this Tuesday. When asked about the legacy of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, and whether they would have their numbers retired in the rafters with the other legends, Grousbeck said that he didn’t really want to think about that while these guys were still playing. However, later he said...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Warriors 3/1

Tonight, the Celtics won again. It wasn't an amazing win, but it had quality. After the first quarter, they began to fade, but still held onto the lead. Pierce and Green each had great games, but nobody else really did. Tonight was a night that was solid, but not amazing. Tonight's USOTN goes to the bad performance by Kevin Garnett. KG scored just 7 points on 2/10 shooting...

Paul Pierce To Play Through Probable Nerve Damage For Rest Of Season

Paul Pierce says he won’t be fully recovered from the pinched nerve in his neck until after the season, and although it’s been bothering him for a few months, he will carry through and play on. According to Ben Rohrbach, WEEI.com: “I probably won’t be fully recovered until the season is over..if I ever do. I probably got a little bit of nerve damage in the back part of my...

Report: Forward D.J. White To Sign With Celtics Within 24 Hours

Help is on the way for the Celtics, though it is not the earth-shattering kind that fans might hope for. D.J. White, a 6-foot-9 forward who last played for the Bobcats in 2011-12, will sign with the Celtics “in the next 24 hours,” Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports. The Celtics had agreed to a deal with White last week, but a delay in receiving his letter of clearance...

Celtics Look to Continue Playoff Push, Prepare for Matchup Against Young, Talented Warriors

While their west coast foray hasn’t exactly gone the way Boston Celtics fans hoped it might, the club can take solace in the fact that the end is near and they’ve managed to hold onto their Eastern Conference playoff position. This Friday they’ll head to the Bay Area for a run-in with the NBA betting community’s biggest 2012-13 surprise: the Golden State Warriors. With...

Live Game Updates - Warriors @ Celtics

7:00: Tonight, the Celtics will head home to host the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors currently sit at 33-25 overall, but just 15-18 on the road. Today's biggest story revolving around the C's is the re-signing of Terrence Williams. Williams hasn't been amazing recently, but definitely deserved to keep his job. Anyway, tip-off for this one is at 7:30. Enjoy it.
