The Celtics were hungry. Hungry for a home victory after an emotional loss to the Nets on Wednesday night. A game that was filled of intense aggression. Rajon Rondo was suspended for two games for being too aggressive and intense, and knocking Kris Humphries literally into the stands. The C's wanted to come out and show their fans they're not going to lie down. That's exactly what Boston did on Friday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, even without their star point guard. They came out firing from the start, and once they had sped out in front, they never looked back. The win was in large part because of Boston's role players who propelled the Celts all night long. Jeff Green had arguably the best game of his Celtic career, scoring 19 points off the bench, but also giving Boston a burst of energy that they were lacking in the absence of Rondo. He was aggressive on both ends of the floor, and his 4 steals prove that. Jason Terry continued his great shooting, tallying 17 points off 7 of 11 shooting. A great night for Jet. Kevin Garnett was productive when he needed to be, despite having only 10 points and 5 rebounds. The Celtics were +21 with KG on the floor, which is a testament to his defensive presence. Paul Pierce filled the "distributor" role very well in Rondo's absence, facilitating the offense adequately. He dished out 5 assists, and grabbed 8 rebounds, scoring only 12 points. Jared Sullinger had yet another impressive night, and has established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the offensive boards. This is what we want to see from Boston every night. Getting stops and getting out in transition, and that will lead to easy buckets. Courtney Lee was great, and he continually got out on the break and helped space the floor. When you don't have one guy you want to get the ball to out in transition, such as Rondo, you stop looking for a specific guy and just pass up the floor to whoever is farthest. That showed, as the C's were able to run up the court pretty much all night long. The Celtics came into this game with tremendous focus after a tough loss on their home floor, and I'm sure they had a vigorous practice on Thursday. This is just one win, and the Celtics can't rest on it. They are currently 4th in the Atlantic division. They must continue to improve, and they must continue to win.

Bucks Gone Wild

Consistency is something the Celtics have finally found, that is if being consistently inconsistent counts.  Watching the Celtic's quarters are almost like following two different movies at the exact same time which can be extremely frustrating, especially when they start out playing so well. The defense was smothering the Bucks and it seemed like we had gained control of the...

A Few Random Thoughts on Celtics/Nets Fight

First of all this sets up a pretty heated Christmas Day game right off the bat. It should get some good ratings. You have to wonder if the league wanted to set up a rivalry between these two teams for ratings purposes. Yes, I know I'm getting into tinfoil hat areas here, but I can't help but wonder.  In the first outing between the Celtics and the Nets,  Keith Bogans...
