Note: This post is written by someone who would totally be OK with the Perk trade if Shaq wasn't injured. * * *It is definitely no news at this point that Celtics need a Center. That our off-season move in Darko has left due to family reasons would be enough to suggest that, but there is more to it. Our rebounding has been worse that last year for certain stretches, and our interior defense is, hmm, how shall I put this, terrible. Moreover, a recent story on CelticsHub that quotes Ainge suggests that the C's might be giving up on the small lineup idea, and the injection of Collins into the starting lineup indicates that that's not just random talk. Now, one problem with needing a Center is that it's really difficult to find one in a time when the position Center is dropped from Allstar ballots. Varejao and Gortat has been suggested so far, but let's be brutally honest, Celtics don't have what it takes to land them (I mean we do have assets, but I don'...

Doc seems to have listened to me and has started using Green almost exclusively as the backup small forward the past two games. For one reason or another Green can not defend 4's and...

Magic Johnson Calls Rajon Rondo ‘Best All-Around’ Point Guard in NBA, Had No Idea He Held Double-Digit Assist Streak

Rajon Rondo spent the early part of this season stalking Magic Johnson‘s record of 46 straight games with double-digit assists. Rondo took the streak so seriously he allowed himself to be kept in the game into the final minute of a loss in Detroit just to notch that decisive 10th assist to keep his run alive. Rondo’s streak eventually ended at 37 games, which tied John Stockton...

Celtics party with Boston Medical Center pediatric patients for the Holidays

I know it's part of the NBA collective bargaining agreement for players to do a lot of this charity stuff, but I still love seeing it. Nice to see this side of Kevin Garnett as well.

Fab Melo's Triple Double Not Enough as Red Claws Fall to Bayhawks (VIDEO)

Fellow Celtic, Kris Joseph...

As NESN Daily‘s Jamison Coyle points out, if the Milwaukee Bucks played the Celtics 82 times, they’d be NBA champions. Fortunately for Boston that’s not how the league works. Wolves pull off upset, snap Thunder's streak

MINNEAPOLIS When the buzzer sounded on the Minnesota Timberwolves' 99-93 win over Oklahoma City on Thursday, the Thunder's 12-game winning streak was snapped. It was the longest such streak since the Thunder became the Thunder, and when it died, so too did OKC's stretch of the same length of wins over Minnesota. Done and done. To blink and wonder if that really happened...

Barea's barrage helps Wolves end Thunder's winning streak
