Found October 12, 2011 on Celtics Life:
Once a Celtic, always a Celtic.   All Celtics fans should remember Clifford Ray with fondness.  He is one one of the best big man coaches in the league and was responsible for the great strides made by both Kendrick Perkins and Al Jefferson as Celtics. Cliff's contract was not renewed by the Celtics and there were some questions as to why they treated him so poorly.     He is now doing a podcast on Blog Talk Radio and it is well worth your time to listen. In tonight's episode of In the Pivot, the Celtics former big man coach talks about all the good times and memories he had with Al Davis and commemorates the loss of a sports legend. You can call in during the show if you want to add to the discussion by calling (323) 693-3807. The show starts at 6:00 PM Eastern time and there will be a link on the show page to listen.  Show your support for Cliff by checking out the show.  If you missed the previous episodes of In the Pivot, you can listen to them here: Listen to ...

Rajon Rondo's incredible no-look alley-oop pass

Rajon Rondo's no-look passes are nothing new to Celtics fans who have had their jaws dropped plenty of times over the point guard's years as floor general in Boston. His latest delivery as he kills time during the NBA lockout, though, may take the cake. Deadspin posted a video from an exhibition game in which Rondo, playing for the Big Blue All-Stars delivered an incredible...

Reason #9,999 Why Rondo is Awesome

The NBA lockout keeps teasing and tormenting us with billionaires and millionaires incessantly fighting over piles of cash that even Scrooge McDuck would shake his head over.  So unfortunately, we've all been relegated to random all-star barnstorming tours that feature nothing but dunks and no defense which amounts to glorified street ball games.  Rajon Rondo has taken part...

Rajon Rondo's no-look, over-the-head alley-oop

(Youtube) NBA lockout, who needs the NBA? The State Farm Big Blue All Star Tour has cured all our ills especially when Rajon Rondo hooks up with Kenneth Faried for an exhilarating alley oop late in the game. … This depressed me. It makes no sense. Why can’t the players and owners make it work? Maybe if Stern wasn’t taking a chainsaw to the pie we could get this...

KG deserves better than this

From a piece I wrote on Crossover Chronicles about Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan: With each passing day, with each additional cancellation, fans that had recently been falling for the sport turn more apathetic.  And while hardcore fans will remain, the casual fans who would learn about the game, its history, and its best players, will miss out on the true appreciation of what...

Your Morning Dump... Where Tiger Woods takes a shot at the Celtics

C'mon Eldrick, why would you say something stupid like that? Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  “Yeah, of course I’m bummed. I think anybody who is an NBA fan is certainly bummed. I know that probably one person who is happy is...

No. 17: Rajon Rondo

Jacob NobleGrowing up my favorite point guard was Jason Kidd.  Hearing all the negativity regarding the future Hall of Fame point guard in the late 90’s is the same non-sense I hear about Rajon Rondo.  The league’s best play maker, even if he can’t shoot.  Rajon makes the game come easy for his teammates, plays the hardest on the court and will do whatever it takes to...

Rajon Rondo Goes No-Look, Over The Head, Makes Us Demand The NBA Come Back

Playing for something called the Big Blue All-Stars, Rajon Rondo and friends (including Brandon Knight, Kenneth Faried and Jodie Meeks) are touring Kentucky, making fools of local college teams. In Monday's game, Rondo found Faried with a no-look lob that embarrassed Union College so hard, it came all the way around and made them proud. More »

Tiger Woods Makes Fun of the Boston Celtics for Being Old

Like every other hoops fan, Tiger Woods is bummed out about the NBA lockout. But he thinks one team will benefit from a shortened season: those old guys in Boston. From WEEI (via Cyber Golf): “Asked about the league’s lockout during a media session prior to the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif., Woods couldn’t help but take a jab at the Celtics: ‘Yeah, of...
