Waiting For Next Year:
The Cavaliers announced this afternoon that rookie point guard Kyrie Irving is listed as questionable for tonight’s game at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks. Irving, the Cavaliers leading scorer, sprained his right shoulder last night at home versus Milwaukee in the second quarter. He continued to play for the third quarter and finished with 29 points, then left the bench following the third and did not return to the blowout. He made the trip to New York, and his status will be updated before 7:00 tip tonight.
BEST OF MAXIM
First the bad news- Cavaliers Uber-Rookie Kyrie Irving suffered what the team is calling a sprained shoulder in the second quarter. He hit the ground with his shoulder (the same shoulder he separated in high school) but played through the pain and finished the game with 29 points, shooting a perfect 6-6 from behind the arc. Irving did not play in the fourth quarter.
Last night will go down as one of the more difficult evenings to swallow in this condensed 66-game campaign. The Cavaliers chipped paint off the rim at their end while they were helpless to stop the onslaught that was the Milwaukee Bucks offense. Milwaukee overwhelmed the Cavaliers right out of the gate, and other than Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers were unable to get anything going...
Anderson Varejao wants to come back. Daniel Gibson may not have a choice.
The only two members of the Cleveland Cavaliers who wore Wine and Gold during the 2007 NBA Finals could realistically spend the last month of the 2011-12 NBA season in street clothes. The veterans, both who would be labeled as “cagey,” are nursing two completely different injuries — Varejao, a wrist fracture...

The Milwaukee Bucks were a locomotive, and the young Cavaliers were planted firmly on the tracks. The Bucks shot 57% and made 50, yes, 50 field goals as they absolutely obliterated the Cavaliers in Quicken Loans Arena 121-84. Brandon Jennings led the Bucks with 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting, while Ersan Ilyasova added 20 and 10 rebounds. Kyrie Irving flashed his brilliance with...

The Cleveland Cavaliers (17-31, 11th in the East), losers of 5 straight and 8 of their last 9 since their impressive mini win streak against Denver, Oklahoma City, and Houston have now officially fallen behind Detroit in the standings and have Sacramento square in their sights.

Injuries. Trade. Inconsistency. Three words that sum up what’s happened to the Cavaliers bench in the past month. Once a strength of the team in the early season, these three factors have relegated the bench to a shell of its former shelf. It’s no coincidence that the Cavaliers are spiraling downward as a result. Let’s take a trip down memory lane at what the bench was at the...

NEW YORK (AP) -- JR Smith scored 20 points, Carmelo Anthony had 19, and the New York Knicks shook off more bad injury news before beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 91-75 on Saturday night.
Already without Amare Stoudemire, the Knicks announced before the game that Jeremy Lin would have surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and could miss six weeks. That leaves them without...
After finding out Kyrie Irving was going to sit this one out, I set the over/under for Cavs points at 73. I was pretty close. Take note: Manny Harris only got in the game for the last minute. Sloan played 34 minutes and Hudson (signed 2 days ago) played 24 minutes. Message sent.
