Found July 25, 2013 on NESN.com:
If there was ever a rookie tailor-made for last season’s Celtics, it was Jared Sullinger. Sullinger, a coach’s kid from Ohio, came into the NBA ready to contribute to a winning team. He fit in well with the veteran group, earning the instant respect of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers. Not many young players — or older players, for that matter — have been able to say that. Sullinger’s first season was cut short by a nagging back injury that finally forced him to get the surgery he had been putting off for years. Both the Celtics and Sullinger sound confident that the surgery fixed the problem, and he has been back on the court for months, working out and preparing for the 2013-14 season. The Celtics are buried in questions up front, where Kelly Olynyk and Fab Melo are works in progress and Kris Humphries is coming off a horrible year in Brooklyn. Sullinger may be the safest bet of the bunch, even coming off back surgery. The Celtics should be in no hurry to move Sullinger, ...

Nobody wants to trade for Jordan Crawford?!!!!!

Last week, our own Mark Vandeusen had this crazy idea that the Celtics should try to trade Jordan Crawford. Seems like it was a good one, as CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely's sources tell him that Danny Ainge could have the same thought. Jay King, MassLive.com: According to CSNNE.com, Jordan Crawford could be a casualty of the shooting guard depth. A. Sherrod Blakely reported...

Inside the Mind of Bradley Stevens

Yesterday, Celtics head coach Bradley Stevens sat down with the Green Street podcast for a very insightful conversation on his mindset and tactics. Here are some of the most interesting takeaways from the interview. Being in the Moment: “My goal is to win the next game one possession at a time. That’s it. I don’t have any other goals. I’ve never been a goal guy. I didn’t...

Colton Iverson signs with Turkish team

Colton Iverson, the bruising center selected by the Celtics in the second round of this year’s draft, is going to Turkey. Boston Celtics draft pick Colton Iverson has signed with Besiktas of the Turkish League, the team announced Friday. The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn reportedthat Iverson signed a contract for two years with an out after the first season. One source with...

Fab Melo Must Show Flashes of Defensive Dominance for Celtics to Stick With Raw Big Man (Poll)

Fab Melo attracted far too much attention as a rookie. This might sound harsh, but the 23-year-old center out of Syracuse was not ready for the NBA last season, no matter how many games of eye-popping blocked shots totals he boasted in the D-League. That didn’t stop fans and reporters alike from hounding coach Doc Rivers about the possibility to bringing up Melo whenever the Celtics...

"Tanks" for nothing Celtics Bandwagoner/BIEBs Fan

This column will be the last time I ever use the word “tank” in association with the Boston Celtics. I for one am sick and tired of hearing the “t” word used in regards to this storied and proud franchise.  Enough already! Or as one of my favorite movie characters “Lefty” would say “fuggetaboutit.” I’ve noticed that the “t” word is predominately used by younger...

Your Morning Dump… Where Vitor Faverani is “El Hombre Indestructible”

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. The scouting report from those who have watched Faverani overseas is nearly universal: a skilled and athletic offensive player but a question mark on the defensive end. That’s confirmed by the advanced stats...

MarShon Brooks Will Flourish in a Comfortable, Familiar Place With Boston Celtics

Photo via Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports Marshon Brooks will have a second go-around with the Boston Celtics. Brooks, who played with the Providence College Friars, has been relative to me for a long time as I was a season ticket holder up until his junior year at PC. Every player has their strengths and weaknesses, but Brooks’ upsides outweigh his downsides. One strength...

Celtics Second-Round Pick Colton Iverson Agrees To Deal With Besitkas

Colton Iverson has signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Besitkas. Iverson was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 53d pick of last month’s draft. The Celtics still own the rights to Iverson, who averaged 5 points and 5.4 rebounds in five games at the Las Vegas summer league.

Welcome to the Keep Shav Crusade

At the end of last season when Doc finally gave into the Free Shav movement for the final 10 games, Shavlik Randolph grabbed every rebound in sight. The late season acquisition showed significant ability to rebound the basketball, grabbing 26.3% of all available defensive rebounds and 22.4% of all caroms overall. Those were the best numbers on the team, but mind you it was in small...

Celtics and Nets scheduled to meet in preseason, will it be Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce's return to Boston?

The Brooklyn Nets announced their upcoming preseason schedule yesterday, which includes two matchups with the Celtics.  Here's the graphic from their website: Obviously the game that stands out is October 23rd in Boston.  As I've discussed before, Pierce and Garnett's first game back is going to be an incredibly emotional experience.  If you're thinking it...

Wish I’d Said That

From HoopsHype Rumors: Net Daily: Next six years, Nets have three first rounders; Lakers have three; Heat have five; Knicks have four; Celtics have 10 (3 Nets, 1 Clippers). Twitter @NetsDaily Just warms the cockles of my heart.  Looks like the “Haves” are capped out, with aging/declining stars, and a dearth of young talent.  The megabucks mavens are going to have a hard...

The Nets are coming to Boston… in the preseason

The Brooklyn Nets released their preseason schedule today and guess who’s on it? Yup, the Celtics will visit the Barclays Center on October 15. Brooklyn is scheduled to play at the Garden on October 23. Will KG and Paul Pierce really make their emotional return to Boston in the preseason? Don’t bet on it. ESPN Boston’s Chris Forsberg doubts either will make the trip. That...

Is John Wall a better player than Stephen Curry or Rajon Rondo?
