During Jeff Green‘s up-and-down season with the Celtics, some of the forward’s biggest detractors apparently have forgotten that just over a year ago, he was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm and had to undergo heart surgery at just 25 years old.
Wednesday marked the one-year anniversary of Green’s surgery. He has been open about the scary, life-changing experience, and has served as inspiration for many others enduring heart ailments at a too-young age. As a sign of thanks to all his supporters, Green tweeted a photo of himself on the hospital bed last January.
A year ago my life changed...#1-9-12 #blessed to see another day and thankful for my family and friends. LOVE Y'ALL!!! http://t.co/33Y9yRu0— Jeff Green (@unclejeffgreen) January 09, 2013
Exactly one year later, Green feels no ill effects and is back on his way to being a productive NBA player again.
