Not good. Celtics are down two starters for tonight's match-up with the Grizzlies. From Sean Grande's twitter.
Official now....Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee both out for the Celtics tonight.KG (foot) will have an MRI back in Boston.

KG will have an MRI back in Boston, but hopefully it's not serious as his loss would be a potential deathblow to the team. As for who starts..it looks like Jeff Green and Jason Terry.
Jeff Green will start for Kevin Garnett. Jason Terry likely for Courtney Lee, but Jordan Crawford, according to Doc, is "a possibility"

The starting five won't be a huge issue, but the bench takes an absolute beating. Jordan Crawford and Chris Wilcox would be the only regular's still in the rotation, leaving more minutes for D.J. White and Shavlik Randolph.

Lee coming back is obviously good news, but...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“An initial sprain is always the biggest zing right there when it happens,” Lee said after the Celtics’ 104-94 loss to Dallas. “But hopefully it’s just swelled up a little bit.
“I’ll get some medicine...
Kevin Garnett will need healthy legs if the Celtics are to have any chance at advancing in the playoffs, so the team is taking every precaution with his troublesome left ankle.
Garnett, who has missed three of the Celtics’ last five games, is unlikely to play Tuesday against the Knicks, Celtics coach Doc Rivers told reporters at practice on Monday. Celtics president of basketball...
The Celtics said Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee are expected to miss Saturday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies with left ankle injuries.
The Grizzlies said center Marc Gasol will sit out with an abdominal tear, and coach Lionel Hollins said forward Zach Randolph won't start because of an internal matter.
Randolph is the team's leading rebounder at 11.6 boards...
We already knew that there was a good chance Courtney Lee would be out tonight, but now we find out KG is also hurt. From the Celtics’ official Twitter:
Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee are both out tonight with sprained left ankles.

No word on how KG hurt his ankle. Multiple media reporting he will have an MRI back in Boston on Monday...
An MRI on Kevin Garnett’s left foot showed swelling in his ankle, and he is officially listed as doubtful for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks. According to Coach Doc Rivers, K.G. hurt his foot during Friday’s loss at Dallas, and it’s possible that the Celtics’ defensive leader will miss at least the next four or five games.
Rivers told the Boston Globe, “Whatever [management...
Kevin Garnett (left) cannot bear to watch his team’s lackluster play while Paul Pierce (right) looks on.
The Boston Celtics are in the midst of a four game losing streak and just came off a winless road trip through New Orleans, Dallas, and Memphis. The news got worse today when Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge announced that Kevin Garnett will be out for...
Celtics’ Doc Rivers and Jason Terry were less than compassionate Friday night when Courtney Lee was carried off the floor by teammates after spraining his ankle.
Boston was in the midst of a comeback against Dallas, down just five with under two minutes remaining in the game when Lee went down with an ankle injury on a possession that left O.J. Mayo wide open for a three-pointer...
The Celtics’ scrambling was admirable, if not exactly effective, as they dashed around the court trying to match up with Mavericks players on defense. They were getting picked apart in a performance reminiscent of Tiago Splitter‘s breakout game at TD Garden earlier this season, but at least they were making a good show of it.
Then Vince Carter hopped in the Way Back Machine —...

Jason Terry is confident that the Celtics will meet the Heat in the playoffs and that there will be "fireworks." He had more to say.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- There were a lot of Kevin Garnett jerseys inside FedExForum Saturday night. Kevin Garnett's was not one of them.
Garnett was one of four noticeable players missing from the Memphis and Boston starting lineups, along with Boston's Courtney Lee and Grizzlies starters Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.
Randolph was in the doghouse after being late for shootaround...
Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are now 15th and 20th on the all time NBA scoring list. Watching KG's video, the cold case of the missing magazine pictures from barber shops and convenience stores in South Carolina back in the 80's appears to have been solved as well.
--MEMPHIS-- Memphis - 110, Boston - 106 The Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies were battling the entire game Saturday. The Grizzlies won 110-106 over the Celtics. With Kevin Garnett out once again for Boston, it took all they had to try and best Memphis. But in the end, they were unsuccessful. At the end of the first quarter, it looked like the Celtics were playing well....
Bob Cousy, #14
After spending the past two weeks in the #9 position, a four game losing streak has dropped the Celtics five spots, all the way down to #14 in Marc Stein's NBA power rankings for ESPN. With the news just out that Kevin Garnett will likely miss some time (Doc said 4-5 games wouldn't surprise him), Stein probably wishes he had Boston even lower.
Here's Doc Rivers' interview from today's practice. Doc talks injuries, the Knicks, and getting the Celtics back on track.

Here's Ainge on Kevin Garnett's injury:
"I'll guess two weeks, just because we want to make sure he's really ready" Ainge said of Garnett's recovery timeline. I think it happened in...
