The hand surgery for Minnesota's Kevin Love has been scheduled.
The Timberwolves announced Monday that Love will have his third and fourth metacarpal repaired Tuesday in New York by Dr. Michelle Carson at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
The two-time All-Star power forward broke the bones during the Jan. 3 game at Denver, a recurrence of the injury he suffered first doing knuckle push-ups Oct. 17 at home.
Love is expected to return sometime in March. The Wolves assessed a recovery time of eight to 10 weeks after he was hurt. In 18 games this season, Love has averaged a team-high 18.3 points and 14 rebounds per game. The Wolves are 9-9 with him and 7-9 without him.

Niesen: Now's the time for Wolves trade
That was bad.
That was exhausted and undisciplined and very possibly a major statement about what's to come.
When the Timberwolves left Minneapolis last Tuesday night, it was on the heels of a surprise win over Atlanta. (Never mind that the Hawks have somewhat imploded since.) It was with a 16-15 record in spite of several seasons' worth of injuries compressed into two...

When Valencia signed Mickael Gelabale back in mid-December to help close out their season in the ACB League and EuroCup, there was question even then how long he would be around.
The answer: 5 games.

Timberwolves Rookie Shved has high praise for Spurs' Parker
Prior to San Antonio’s 106-88 fourth quarter victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, I had a chance to speak with Wolves Russian rookie Alexey Shved.
Though Shved is a rookie, he’s had his run against NBA caliber players as he went head to head with Manu Ginobili (Argentina), Tiago Splitter (Brazil), and Patty Mills (Australia) when Russia played against each squad...
