July 12 marks an important date for the Boston Celtics’ and Brooklyn Nets’ history as Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett move on from a tremendous era and say hello to a new beginning.
The Celtics, one of the most storied franchises in all sports, upped their loyalty and respect to their players. Their latest gesture includes a full-page ad in the Boston Globe.
Hours later, when the trade became official, the Nets updated their website with an opening image with the likes of Pierce, Garnett, Jason Terry and Andrei Kirilenko
Recently, Brooklyn reported they will introduce the trio and Kirilenko next Thursday at Barclay Center. General manager Billy King commented on his new editions.
“We are excited to welcome Kevin, Paul and Jason to Brooklyn,” said King. “All three players have championship pedigree and possess the veteran qualities that will make us a stronger team.”
The Celtics will introduce their newly acquired players on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
