Mark Iavaroni Officially Named Grizzlies Coach It was made official yesterday in an afternoon press conference and contrary to earlier reports....the Memphis Grizzlies are not dead. The Grizzlies signed arguably the #1 coaching prospect on the market in Iavaroni and are reportedly bringing along his former co-worker, David Griffin, to take over Jerry West's duties as general manager. It was a big signal to the fan base that Heisley has not gone Donald Sterling and we will not be the new look Clippers. Iavaroni said all the right things and seems to have some plan of action for the direction of the Grizzlies. You can see the press conference and hear for yourself. It was impossible to get a read on where he stands with Pau Gasol. It is interesting that Iavaroni selected the Memphis job over Seattle and that says something about how our talent is perceived league wide.
