Let’s take a break from the Penn State abomination/crisis and talk something less depressing, like college basketball national signing day. Michigan State basketball received the following three National Letters of Intent today, with more expected later:
Matt Costello (F, 6-10, 240, Bay City, Mich., Bay City Western)
His home is pretty close to Flint, so this continues the pipeline to the talent base in Michael Moore’s hometown. Now you know why he wears the State hat!
Costello is ranked among the top 100 players in the nation by Scout.com (#81), Rivals.com (#82) and ESPNU100 (#85) … Rated among the top players at his position by ESPNU100 (#15 center), Scout.com (#18 center) and Rivals.com (#24 power forward)
He’s the 2011 Gatorade Michigan High School Player of the Year.
Kenny Kaminski (F, 6-8, 245, Medina, Ohio, Medina)
This Spartans class is very balanced and overall solid; but lacks that marquee name. Adding Kaminski shows they’ve kept improving their foothold in Ohio.
