Sure, the rumors are fun, but Celtics President of Basketball Operations, Danny Ainge, shot them down Thursday when asked about the much talked about trade assets, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. He stated comfortably, that the most likely scenario is that the two will not be traded at the deadline.
According to ESPN:
On if he’s comfortable saying that Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce will not be traded:
“Yeah, I think that’s by far the most likely thing. Sure.”
…with this group of guys for the last couple of years, I don’t see that much changing. There aren’t a lot of teams that are trying to pursue players of KG and Paul’s age, and I just think that we value them more than other teams value them.
