According to Forsberg of the worldwide leader local branch, Paul Pierce is now battling a bone bruise on his left knee. He suffered the injury in Philly, but it appeared to affect his play last night in Indiana shooting just 4 of 15 for just 13 points. He did play 34 minutes which is a good sign, but was seen with an ice pack on his knee in postgame interviews. I wouldn’t expect the Captain out of the lineup any time soon, just hopefully it doesn't affect his level of play too much. He was pretty tight-lipped after the game about it, almost Belichick-esque:
"Just a little bruise, it happened [Tuesday] night [in Philadelphia]," Pierce said. "I played, so it’s not a problem."
Another game, another injury, hopefully this is the worst for the rest of the year. I expect a lot of guys to be banged up, just no more big time injuries please (knock on wood).

This is one of the better huddle-bombs you’re going to see. Pierce doesn’t even try to sneak in…. he just walks right up brazenly, right past Spencer Hawes, who looks directly at him, and drapes his arm around two Sixers to listen in on the last few seconds. It’s so great, none of the Sixers even get pissed. It’s like the end of an old Mentos commercial when everyone...
Sometimes gaining an added advantage against a team isn't the moral thing to do but it's still entertaining for us to view.During Wednesday night's Boston Celtics/Philadelphia 76ers match, Celtics forward Paul Pierce decided to enter a 76ers huddle and do some recon work:(Courtesy of Red's Army)
Paul Pierce was very nearly traded for Josh Smith at the deadline. We knew that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were both in danger of being traded at the deadline this season, but according to Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who is usually right about such things, the deal may have been as close as Pierce has come to leaving the Celtics in his career. From the Yahoo! article:Before the...
The Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks had another overtime showdown on Friday night, and luckily the Celtics escaped without any torn ACLs. Boston came out victorious by a margin of 107-102, and Paul Pierce led the Celtics' scoring with 27 points.

There was no brilliantly devised play call this time. If the Celtics’ last gut-check victory was an example of Paul Pierce‘s abilities as a $17 million decoy, their latest was a reminder in exactly why Doc Rivers usually puts the ball in this guy’s hands in the clutch.
The most polarizing topic among Celtics fans might not be whether the team is better without Rajon Rondo or...
Paul Pierce had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Avery Bradley scored 22 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 109-101 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.
Kevin Garnett scored 18 points to help the Celtics continued their push up the Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics entered in seventh, but were no more than two games behind the next three teams ahead in the...
There is a famous scene in “Star Wars: A New Hope” where Han Solo and Chewbacca are fleeing from an angry and clumsy group of Stormtroopers trying to make their way to the Milennium Falcon. As they are running down the corridor, you can hear one of the troopers yell ‘CLOSE THE BLAST DOORS!’ As the doors are slowly closing, Han and Chewie hop through cleanly, leaving all...
Finally, Doc Rivers listens to the fans and calls a play at the end of the game that isn't just a Paul Pierce iso. And it was awesome.
Best win of the year? Best play of the year? Yes on both accounts.

Good road win for the Celtics. The Sixers have had it rough with injuries this season. Poor Sixers fans want to root for a loss for more ping pong balls but they hate the Celtics so much that they are torn about it. Great game by Bradley. I've highlighted a few favorites. What are yours?
All the teams are tanking right now. Very hard to make progress in draft order...
Sorry for such a late recap folks. Our staff are tied-up tonight, either travelling for Sunday’s big bash, or getting things prepared for it. I was actually at the Garden and just got to work myself, but wanted to log-on real quick & give you all a place to talk/comment on/be excited about tonight’s win. I have not seen any of the highlights, with the exception of a few YouTube...
Let me be honest: This game was billed as a potential playoff preview but Indiana is a team I’d rather avoid. The Pacers are a very good team, probably the only real challenger to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference. A Celtics-Pacers series sounds like a more graceful version of last year’s grindy Celtics-76ers tilt, except this time the odds wouldn’t be in the Celtics...
3:26 p.m.: Nobody in Philly seems particularly optimistic about Bynum suiting up this season.
Bob Ford of the Philadelphia Inquirer joined the chorus on Tuesday with a revealing column on the big man, who seems even farther from playing for the Sixers — ever — after saying last week that he would not play with pain. Sixers beat reporters found this little detail, uh, interesting...
After their thrilling win over the Pacers, the Celtics will head home for a meeting with the Hawks. The Hawks currently sit a game ahead of Boston for the six seed in the east, so this one will be very important. Recently, the C's have looked unbeatable at home, and I kinda expect that to continue. The only reason why I won't guarantee a win is because you can't. Last...

There is no love lost between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics. Ever since the teams clashed through seven hard-fought games in the first round of the 2008 Playoffs, it seems, both teams have had each others' number. There have been matchups, dustups and confrontations - with notable incidents involving Paul Pierce and Al Horford, Jeff Teague and Ray Allen (to which KG...
