PHILADELPHIA – Detroit Pistons coach Lawrence Frank, once part of a 0-16 start while in charge of the New Jersey Nets, did not feel any added pressure from his team’s 0-8 start this season. “When you’re in it, whether you’re winning or losing, you never talk about a streak,” said Frank, who was fired by the Nets after that dismal start in 2009-10. “You’re just focused on that game. We’re disappointed in our start, but it wasn’t like we had any doubt we were going to win a game. It was hey, when we deserve to win, we’ll win.” On Wednesday night, they finally deserved it. Greg Monroe had 19 points, 18 rebounds and six assists, and the Pistons held the Philadelphia 76ers to a court record-low 29.8-percent shooting, en route to a 94-76 victory. “It was real important, because we needed it,” Monroe said of the victory. “As a team, we felt like it was long overdue. We had a lot of games where we could have won, so tonight we just wanted to come out, and we did a great job of domi

Andrew Bynum’s health has prevented him from playing this season, but his hair has managed to keep him in headlines. The Philadelphia 76ers center was spotted watching his team play on Wednesday while sporting the ‘do you see above. I really don’t even know how to describe the thing. Like Black Sports Online, I am just at a loss for words. Earlier this season, he was sporting...
Greg Monroe had an outstanding rebounding performance, snagging 18 (5 offensive) boards to accompany his 19 points, 6 assists and 1 block. You can forgive the 6 turnovers, because he’s had double digit rebounds in five of his past six games. The Pistons are just happy to win a game. With Andre Drummond seeing floor time and Monroe being a beast, there were concerns that Jason Maxiell...
Just when we figured 76ers tickets couldn’t go any lower on StubHub, someone has lowered his/her tickets to 25¢ per seat in section 207, row 9 for tonight’s game against the lowly Pistons. That’s a .20 drop in price for tickets this week. Tickets to Monday’s game were going for 45¢ and those were four rows higher.
Sure, you get to see the hopeless 0-8 Pistons, but this...
BOSTON — Doug Collins needed a leader, so he marched down his bench and grabbed the player that most closely resembled a leader for the Philadelphia 76ers. Almost forcibly, Collins inserted Jrue Holiday into the fourth quarter of last week’s game against the Celtics, who had cut a 16-point lead to four points.
With Holiday at the helm, the Sixers re-established their cushion...
Greg Monroe had 19 points, 18 rebounds and six assists to help the Detroit Pistons beat the Philadelphia 76ers 94-76 on Wednesday night for their first win of the season.
Kyle Singler scored 16 points, and Tayshaun Prince and Brandon Knight each scored 15 points for a Detroit (1-8) team off to its worst start in franchise history. Playing their seventh road game out of nine games...
If there’s one thing we can learn from this season, thus far, Andrew Bynum has questionable hair choices. The best part? He doesn’t care what anyone thinks about it; he clearly lives the ‘IDGAF’ life. So, let’s take a few moments and meander through the evolution of Andrew Bynum’s hair. Same ole Bynum. Same Ole [...]The post The Evolution of Andrew Bynum’s Hair (Photos...
Coming off the best season of his career, a lot of folks predicted that Bynum would continue to evolve and mature into a full-blown NBA superstar this year – so far he has yet to even get on the floor. The good thing about doing nothing, though, is that it leaves you with plenty of [...]
The Detroit Pistons nearly broke through against one of the league's best teams before coming up short again their last time out.
While frustrations are starting to take their toll, Detroit is doing its best to stay positive.
The visiting Pistons look to snap their worst start in franchise history Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Detroit (0-8) saw its woes continue...
With a loss last night to the Toronto Raptors, you would think Sixers fans have nothing to laugh at….or do they? Andrew Bynum took a trip to the beauty salon to give his Afro a Perm before the game last night, and it became evident that he needs some tips. Please never do this again…
First off, I don’t care how many people goof on Sixers center Andrew Bynum‘s hair because it’s amazingly epic. There have been african-american athletes in the past that have rocked afros but they have traditional been in the puffed-out style. Bynum took his afro to a whole new level combing it forward when he sat on the bench to watch his Sixers lose to the Detroit Pistons on...
