Terrence Williams, a former lottery pick and standout player at Louisville, is back in the NBA. Multiple reports stated Monday that the Celtics signed Williams to add depth to their bench, which has been decimated by injuries. Williams gives the Celtics 11 healthy players, rounding out a roster that was in a precarious position after the season-ending injuries to Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger and Leandro Barbosa. The Boston Globe appears to have been the first to report the signing. Terrence Williams signing is a done deal according to #celtics source— gary washburn (@GwashNBAGlobe) February 18, 2013 Williams, 25, does not fill any of those players’ roles. The 6-foot-6 swingman is not a true ballhandler like Rondo or a bruiser like Sullinger, and he is nowhere near as quick as Barbosa. He can play two positions, however, which creates more lineup possibilities for Celtics coach Doc Rivers with Paul Pierce and Jeff Green, who have played together more since the injuries hit. Video: NBA Rookies and Sophomores talk about Jared Sullinger

Some of the players from the NBA Rising Stars game spoke about Jared Sullinger and his absence from the rookie/sophomore game at All-Star weekend. All spoke highly of Sullinger's talent and potential to be a star in the NBA. Cleveland Cavalier Tristan Thompson, who has known Sullinger since high school, divulged a story about a trip to France where Sullinger only wanted to...

Video: Recapping the Celtics' pre-All-Star game run without Rajon Rondo

As the trade deadline looms, the Celtics' future is uncertain. In the wake of Rajon Rondo's ACL tear and the announcement that he would be done for the season, many presumed that the Celtics were done for the season. Many said the team should blow it up and start to rebuild. Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers was not among those doubters. Rivers said to the media in a...

Paul Pierce is the new Rajon Rondo, and in the best way possible

Before Rajon Rondo was lost for the season he was dominating the NBA in triple doubles, with 5 (no other Celtic had any).  Since Rondo's been gone Paul Pierce has taken over that role by recording 2 triple doubles of his own (the only player in the NBA with more than one in that time span), which puts him tied for second in the league on the season behind Rondo.   Over the...

Ainge says he's not shopping Rajon Rondo, Broussard says he is

Some he said/she said stuff with less than two days to go before the trade deadline. Here's Danny Ainge: I’m not trading Rajon Rondo away for discounted dollars because he’s hurt. We collectively as an organization have decided not to do that. And now Chris Broussard: Sources say Boston willing to trade injured PG Rajon Rondo in right deal. For one reason or another a lot...

Report: Celtics Willing to Trade Injured Rajon Rondo If They Can Find ‘Right Trade’

Rajon Rondo is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, but apparently that won’t stop the Celtics from moving their point guard — if they can somehow find a deal they like. That probably won’t be easy, but ESPN’s Chris Broussard reports (via Twitter) that the Celtics would trade their injured point guard if they were able to find the “right trade.” What exactly...

Boston Celtics willing to trade Rajon Rondo if the deal is good enough

No one is untouchable on the Boston Celtics ... even Rajon Rondo. The Celtics star point guard, who is recovering from season-ending ACL surgery, is available if the price is right, ESPN's Chris Broussard reported. This makes sense if Boston is serious about acquiring Los Angeles Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe, who has been discussed as the potential centerpiece of a deal...

Report: C’s want the world in a Rondo trade

There isn’t a single Celtic that hasn’t been mentioned in some trade rumor somewhere.  Yesterday, Chris Broussard threw an “update” out there that Danny would move Rondo in the “right deal.” Anyone that knows this team, even a little bit, knows Danny Ainge will listen to any offer and move on something that he feels makes sense for the team.  Apparently, what makes...

Rondo's agent assured Rondo will not be traded

Agent for Rajon Rondo, Bill Duffy, tells USAT that Boston GM Danny Ainge assured him today the Celtics PG won't be traded. Story to come. — Sam Amick (@sam_amick) February 20, 2013 Another update in a crazy time before the trade deadline, this new information seems to be pretty plausible. Rondo is currently out with a season-ending injury, so his value would not be very high...

Rondo Assured By Celtics He Won't Be Dealt

Rajon Rondo has been linked to a possible trade in several reports.

Jeff Green Helps Celtics Work Past Injuries to Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger, Leandro Barbosa

The Boston Celtics have thrived amid adversity this season, relying on the one-two punch of veterans Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to beat the prevailing NBA odds and prove that their window of opportunity for another championship hasn’t closed just yet. But they haven’t been doing it alone — 26-year-old Jeff Green has been a big part of their success lately. While season-ending...

Report: Lakers had discussed a Dwight Howard for Rajon Rondo trade

Dwight Howard's time with the Los Angeles Lakers seems limited.  He was expected to come over this season and eventually sign a long-term extension.  Now, it's not certain he would sign one, and it's not certain the Lakers would want him to.  And apparently, the Lakers have even tried trading him.According to Chris Broussard of ESPN, the Lakers tried to pull off a...

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce Turning Back the Clock to Keep Celtics Contending Without Rajon Rondo

Kevin Garnett didn’t exactly make the dramatic All-Star game exit many Celtics fans had been hoping for when he cryptically leaked last week that this would be his last appearance in the event. He did take the floor as the starting center for the Eastern Conference, however, fulfilling his due diligence in the lineup and saluting the fans. The big man does, after all, have a surging...
