CSNNE's Kyle Draper reported Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen will not play tonight against the Orlando Magic, and Jermaine O'Neal is likely joining them on the sidelines due to some knee swelling from a knee-to-knee collision that occurred in Monday night's game. The good news is that Mickael Pietrus is back from his shoulder injury and will start for Ray Allen. Keyon Dooling and Chris Wilcox will also return to the Celtics' second unit tonight.

Rajon Rondo may not return until the All-Star break

The All-Star break isn't exactly right around the corner. It's a month away. One month is a far cry from what we've been continuously hearing from Rondo and the Celtics about the point guard trying to convince the medical staff that he's been ready to play all this week. This wrist injury might be more serious than we initially thought.

Celtics PG Rondo says wrist at '45 percent'

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is not close to returning to the lineup. Rondo estimated his ailing right wrist is at "45 percent" and could remain sidelined for several more days. Rondo sat out his fourth consecutive game Thursday and will miss Friday night's matchup against the Indiana Pacers. He was injured in a game against Toronto on Jan. 18 as a result...

Are the Celtics back? Boston defeats Pacers: 94-87

Again, no Rondo and no Ray Allen but yet again another inspiring Celtics win. It was a game that was close at times but Boston never really seemed to lose control of this one, leading by as many as 16 points, and defeating the Pacers 94-87. It is the Celtics fourth straight win. Indiana had tied the game in the third, however 17 points from Paul Pierce in that quarter helped stave...

Recap: Pierce does it all in win over Pacers

Who needs Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo? The Celtics have now won four straight games without their starting backcourt.  Paul Pierce was the hero. How's this for a balanced stat sheet? 28 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. The Truth had 17 in the 3rd quarter, asserting himself offensively as Indiana picked up their intensity. Chris Wilcox (14 points, 6-8...

Your Morning Dump... WTF got into Chris Wilcox??

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.   “Last night got me a little more comfortable,” said Wilcox. “Tonight, I just wanted to play hard. I was a little winded but it was a good one.” Contributions from the nine-year veteran were...

Jermaine O'Neal may join Ray & Rondo on the bench

Twitter / @gwashburn14: Rondo and Ray Allen are ou ... via kwout Jermaine did a decent job of bodying up Dwight Howard.  Without Jermaine, the job will go to either Brandon Bass or Greg Stiemsma.  Personally, I just throw Stiemer out there to the Wolves.  We need Bass' offense off the bench.  And hey, maybe the kid can block a couple of Dwight's shots while he's...

The Boston Celtics came back from 27 points Thursday night to beat the Orlando Magic 91-83. This is the third straight win for the Celtics without Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo. Last night I went to the craziest NBA game I have ever seen

Orlando was 11-4 and heading to Boston with two days rest.  The 6-9 Celtics had just played in Washington the day before.  They were also missing Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen, as well as BOTH their back-ups, Keyon Dooling and Mickael Pietrus.  Everything was pointing towards an easy Magic victory; which made what unfolded before my eyes last night all the more shocking. With 2:53...
