The first All-Star ballot results are in and the Celtics look to be well represented following the recent revisions to the ballot. After the Roy Hibbert debacle last year the ballot was changed to two backcourt and three frontcourt positions, doing away with the Center designation entirely. Following the top two vote-getters in the Eastern Conference, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Garnett has an 8000 vote lead on Chris Bosh for the third starting frontcourt spot. Paul Pierce, who has just over half of Garnetts 218,246 votes, looks to be in line for a spot on the bench (he’s 6th in Eastern Conference frontcourt votes).Rajon Rondo trails only Dwayne Wade in the Eastern Conference guard voting with 382,613 votes. After almost being snubbed last year Rondo appears to be the most popular PG in the East by a mile. Of course, Derrick Rose has been unable to play as he works his way back from a torn ACL, Kyrie Irving just returned from a broken finger, Deron Williams has been pret...

Houston Rockets coach Kevin McHale shared a long hug with Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett after Friday night's NBA matchup at the Toyota Center, where the Rockets defeated the Celtics 101-99.
It was the first time the teams played since McHale took a month-long absence to grieve the loss of his daughter Sasha, who died of complications from Lupus at the age of 23. As they...
That was quite the game. I'd rather have a 20 point lead going into the final 2 minutes. I'm too old for these close games. The guy predicting 2-12 for JET was pretty close, he finished 3-10. Like usual, there are the Paul Pierce wheelchair comments and the complaints about the refs and KG's screens. You can count on those like clockwork. They sure got worked up...
Welp, it’s a little late, but consider this a “late-night snack”. I was trying to find this pic all day, and the folks at Celtics Fanchat tweeted it just now. It’s our own Rajon Rondo talking with Patriots great Matt Light last night at Foxboro.
I included the video of Kevin McHale and Kevin Garnett embracing in the game recap, but I felt that this moment was so special it needed to be mentioned again. Yesterday was a very rough day for almost everyone in this country. Twenty precious children were killed in an act of senseless violence. Those of us who are parents and grandparents were hit especially hard by the tragedy...
The Celtics took 2OT to beat the Mavs at home, 117-115. Paul Pierce scored his 2300th career point and Rajon Rondo contributed with a near-triple-double, 16 points, 15 assists and 9 rebounds. Tonight the Spurs and Celtics will clash in San Antonio and Celtics blogger John Karalis of Red's Army weighs in on the matchup. In a nutshell, John is expecting the Celtics to shock the Spurs tonight and escape San Antonio with the win. Here is what he had to say on tonight's Spurs-Celtics game.
So the Celtics have played a double overtime game where Paul Pierce...
After trailing the entire 4th quarter, Paul Pierce gave the Celtics signs of life with a big 3 that cut the Houston lead to 88-83. On the next possession Rajon Rondo poked the ball away from James Harden and dove for the steal, but couldn't quit come up with it. Harden then buried a deep three to stretch the lead back to 8 with 4:41 to go. Boston would never get any closer...

1: A mournful embrace
The best moment of Friday's nights basketball games had nothing to do with a sport. Nothing to do with a dunk, a shot, a block, a defensive play, an assist. It was the simple act of humanity.
One that resonated deeply on a dark day for the nation.
As the years have passed by the late 80′s greats in Boston, history has remember Kevin McHale as a Celtics’ legend, decent head coach and the guy who gave Kevin Garnett to Boston. People don’t remember just how dominant McHale was in green. For his career, Kevin McHale average 17.9 PPG, 7.3 RPG and [...]
On Wednesday night the Celtics hosted the Dallas Mavericks. Coming into the game the big storyline featured Jason Terry as he matched up against his former team for the first time since joining the Celtics this off season. Although Terry said it was just another game it's been well documented he wasn't pleased when the call never came for him to resign with the Mavs. In...
